You know, you could just get an "industrial grey" Model M case. I have one. They're $30 on the Unicomp website. They're much darker than Unicomp's pic. If you want, you can use a graphite pencil but make sure it's graphite. You can just rub some on. I have fixed two of these keyboards and I have never had to use anything.
