On a second try, I must revise my judgement about friction. I hear friction but I don't feel it much. Also there is no binding.
To me, It feels slightly more heavy than my 45g realforce, so around 45-50g. Though, it might be due to the more pronounced tactility.

Re: IBM Preferred Pro Fullsize
I just tried the Lenovo Preferred Pro II and was pleasantly surprised by the tactility (not mushy). There is some friction so I would not consider them smooth. There is no high pitched noise, so it's more 'thock' than 'clack'. It's also not silent but still very tolerable in a shared room. I would u...

Re: KeyClack Topre Silencing Rings v2
Here is a (crappy) shot where you can compare the thickness. I would say they are slightly thinner. rings.png What are the rings in the pic? Hyperspheres on the left, Keyclack v2s on the right iirc Confirmed. @St0ckz: Thanks for the ring IDs. Wow, if I do say so myself, the Keyclack V2 rings appear...

Re: Realforce R2 PFU Limited Edition
They both have the same rigid PCB and the same dome construction. IMO, both versions have similar build quality. Thought, it's a lot easier to disassemble the R1 version. On the R1 you can have some noise with the left ctrl key. This is cured by putting a generous amount of lube. The R2 doesn't have...

Re: Realforce R2 PFU Limited Edition
I have both the PFU and Leopold version. As far as space bar is concerned, the PFU board seems to a bassier sound. Both versions have a tendency to get high-pitched when I press on the left side on the space bar. This disparity is worse on the PFU version. This calls for some foam modding at some po...

Re: Realforce R2 PFU Limited Edition
I didn't encounter an issue with the noise produced by the space bar with my R2 boards, but there is something I find annoying with it.
The space bar is slightly longer than on Realforce R1 or HHKB. So you can't put a custom space bar (the stabilizers won't fit).

Re: KeyClack Topre Silencing Rings v2
I got those to replace Hypersphere ones in hope it would fix the lack of tactility on my 55g board. It didn't work. They are a bit annoying to install + you have to clean up remains of lube or they will fall off. On the plus side, I think there is less friction when pressing keys and the silencing w...

Re: Realforce R2 PFU Limited Edition
For Europe, I think the pre-order from MyKeyboard is a better offer and you avoid import taxes.
They don't seem to have a version with APC. Thought, the difference between the 3 settings was too subtle for me when using 30g, 45g or purple domes. So it's not necessarily a big loss.

Re: Realforce R2 PFU Limited Edition
So, how would someone outside Korea go about getting those? My interest is more academic—especially for referring other people—than personal. My heart belongs to HHKB. You can get it from Harumio . The strange thing is that all models are sold at the same price "to simplify the ordering process and...

Re: Realforce R2 PFU Limited Edition
You can get the same same features as the PFU edition with all weighting variants (variable, 30g, 45g, 55g) with white, black, black with grey/blue keycaps color schemes distributed by Leopold. Some models were already distributed by Leopold while the equivalent PFU ones were only revealed.

Your model is different on some aspects from those I opened (45g, 55g and silent) with US layout. On the US layout, there is an additional screw that maintains the cable next to the PCB. Also the domes are made of multiple pieces of rubber. And it's very easy to detach them from the PCB. I suspect a...

My fingers didn't feel much change on a silenced 55g. Apart from the volume, the sound of a silenced version is more satisfying IMO. So in a way, it DOES feel different. I did the following to avoid playing puzzle games with the domes and spring when creating a silenced 55g : - dismount the externel...
