Re: Best replacement foam for keytronic foam and foil switches

Just thought I would update this thread in case anyone else runs across it and needs to replace their foam and foil pads. We are currently making replacement pads that can be popped into place. They have been tested and used across many machines and the list is still growing. We have even had a cus...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Holy crap! $355 US! That's more than I paid for my APL beam spring! At least the shipping would have been super cheap - even for Canada (which is very unusual). It was only $17.25 to Canada, instead of the current shipping price of $80-100. Well I'm glad somebody here got it, so we can see some nic...

This looks to be very promising. Might be the new best way to keep our heirloom Model M going for generations. Of course the plastic barrel plate could always crack on it's own but of course always replaceable.

I'd totally buy a custom gold badge but I think I'd need to own a black model F firsthand... Step 1. Get Model F Step 2. Paint black and apply gold ba...

Very good write-up and restoration. One thing I did on my last restoration was start with a heat-gun to assist with removing as much of the old foam and sticky goo as possible. I was actually able to pull much of it away starting from a corner. Then I give it a good rinse of Goo-Gone while wearing s...

Re: Some bolt modding questions

One other thing I just though of. If you are doing many of these bolt mods I think ideally you would want some kind of jig to keep the barrel plate perfectly flat and well supported. Then you would need some sort of drill press to ensure no holes are drilled at an angle. I'm not sure about starting ...

Re: bought my first model M and have a few question about modding and cleaning

There can be a lot of satisfaction in doing it yourself. The downside though is the time cost as it likely will take you more than 3 hours as it will be your first one as it takes time to research and filter through the various guides and methods to doing a bolt mod. You also have to procure the cor...
