Re: 3.3V device with PS/2 interface

I am an idiot. I tested the keyboards on the Arduino, but it seems the 3.3V of the *Arduino* is broken.

Re: 3.3V device with PS/2 interface

After my initial disappointment, I thought about my options. Speaking USB would be the proper solution, also since it would open the gate to communicating to many other devices. However, I am not a hardware engineer and haven't programmed USB devices before. I have the impression that USB is complex...

Re: 3.3V device with PS/2 interface

Small update: I've bought 5 cheap keyboards. I hoped at least one of them would support PS/2 when powered by 3.3V. However, all of them support PS/2 at 5V, but none of them support it when I power them at 3.3V...

I will need to find another solution.

Re: 3.3V device with PS/2 interface

I don't know if it *can* be done, but I'm pretty sure the MCU is not intended to be re-programmed on this board. My understanding is that it plays a role when you program the FPGA over USB (and potentially also in the initialization sequence on startup, but I'm not sure about this). It's not like on...

Re: 3.3V device with PS/2 interface

I ordered 4 keyboards for about 40 euros. Let's see of one of them works with 3.3V PS/2.

Re: 3.3V device with PS/2 interface

> Thanks for itemising your questions. Same to you ;) I. I don't know of such a list. I would, however, consider testing a few. 3.3v shouldn't harm any PS/2 keyboard. I have tested a few! I have an old IBM Spacesaver II and a cheap Trust one -- both work over PS/2 with 5v, but not with 3.3 volt. It ...

3.3V device with PS/2 interface

I have a development board with a 3.3V device, that does not provide any 5V pins. I want to interface this over a PS/2 interface. This is annoying, since PS/2 officially requires 5V. However, I read many reports of people who were able to interface with keyboards over 3.3V PS/2. Unfortunately I am n...

I'd like to have my account deleted

Hi,

I'm doing a big cleanup of my old/stale accounts. Since I don't really use my deskthority account anymore, I'd like to have this account deleted.

Thanks in advance,

Ruben

Ah, sounds like an interesting project. Sounds hard though, but apparently at least one person pulled it off. I've been thinking about making a DIY keyboard with a trackpoint, but I'm afraid I'll ruin everything :P

whats about the TEX YODA? Are you suggesting I buy one or do you want to know how the space saver II compares to the tex yoda? I didn't buy one because it's too expensive, and didn't fit my needs. I want a tenkeyless keyboard, but I do want arrows and F1-12. How it compares, I don't know, I have ne...

It just got in today. It is quite okay, much to my relief. One feet is missing, which pisses me off a little, not because I needed it but because I paid so much for a product with a defect. Package it came in was way too big so I had to pay more than I expected for shipping. The keyboard itself is q...

Are you plugging in a teensy 2++ or are you assembling a PCB with a 'bare' AT90USB1286? I'm planning to do a similar project to replace the controller of my thinkpad compact usb keyboard. I also never made a PCB, so we'll probably have similar challenges (however, I first I have my dreaded thesis to...

I'm actually looking for ANSI keyboards, but thanks anyway. I probably should have mentioned this in the first place.
BTW, if someone is willing to buy one from ebay and ship it to me, I'm willing to throw in a little bit extra, so you can make some profit :)

Looking for an IBM SpaceSaver II

Hi there, I am looking for a nice compact standalone keyboard with trackpoint with three buttons. So far, the only keyboard that I've found that satisfies all my wishes is the IBM SpaceSaver II. The Lenovo Compact keyboard also has a trackpoint, but I don't like some other aspects of the layout. Doe...
