Re: [tutorial] programming Access-IS keypads

The software now isn't available on the site but it's still on their server. I found it with web.archive.org.

http://downloads.access-is.com/Setup_Softprog_4_06.msi

Maybe this will help someone else.

Re: Can someone explain to me the whole Geekhack

Ripster is mostly absent from /r/mechanicalkeyboards unless he is using another username. What remains is a partially updated Wiki that some users contribute what pleases them to contribute (for me it was Jailhouse stuff), some of the culture he fostered and the fading shadow of his interaction with...

Re: Plate materials. Plate manufacturers.

I'm not that discerning of a typist but I've liked what I've heard about the sound and feel carbon fiber. I've liked the slight give of well supported glass fiber/FR-4/PCB material plates and the dampened sound of a wood case. It seems that carbon fiber might approximate both without the noise of FR...

Re: My Magicforce 68 rebuild

Good read, thanks for sharing. I'll always have a soft spot for the MF68. I keep one in my office to swap out with my weird keyboard in case someone needs to use my desk.

Actually I'm just being paid to try to convert you to 40% keyboards so you'll sell "The Wall" cheap. I think somebody already has dibs on the Cherry section. Seriously, I appreciate the time you've taken in this conversation Chyros. The "why can't you like what I like" backlash must get a little shr...

I guess a common thread is the difference between a hobbyist and whatever people think you (Chyros) are. Importantly this is distinct from whatever your intent is. As a hobbyist, I've got my preferences and don't have to have a reason to explore anything outside of what pleases me. So when I say cli...

I started to multi-quote but it got messy. AFA MX: Nope. AFA Planck: Thank you for explaining your perspective. Knowing where you were coming from is helpful and I appreciate the work you put in. Sometimes it is hard to relate to these things from so deep down the rabbit hole. I can see that you wer...

As a Planck user I thought it was funny but then I watched you trying to game on it. It was a bit like my experience watching "Big Bang Theory" because it contained aspects of my culture and then ceasing to watch it when I realized we were just the butt of the joke. Thank you for your time, I'm sorr...

I just bought some leftovers and I just wanted to mention how grateful I am to have the opportunity to do so.

Thank you to 7bit, nosage and all others involved.
