The bottom row keys on the alphanum block have a particular style (convex profile, corners cut off) that is not present on the nav cluster and numpad). Convex profile is used for keys which are pressed by thumbs. It is correct that bottom rows of the navigation cluster and numpad use a standard pro...

I find this keyboard really offputting. The minimal footprint along with the islands... It looks hideous to me.

Just got this in the mail. https://i.imgur.com/mGmXI84.jpg NIB Tai-Hao TH-5539-8 , rebranded as F-21YQ. It has unbranded Tai-Hao APC switches - white slider, older & larger rear contact plate, wide click leaf. They feel fairly similar to the Pine White Alps in my NOS FK-2001, but more tactile and l...

I pulled the SA Maxkeys keycaps off my box royal switches, and they aren't loose on cherry blues, so I am thinking cap thickness has a lot to do with this.

Maybe eventually someone will give it an honest review. Every switch being stabilized has advantages and disadvantages, but I do question WHY they chose to stabilize this way if it only results in squeaky switches xD Potentially, it would result in more stable switches.

Razer Opto-mechanical?

I have been known to throw shade at Razer in the past, especially in regards to how the price tag on their stuff does not reflect the quality of the product, but the new switch has me interested. Has anyone seen this switch before? https://www.razer.com/gb-en/gaming-keyboards-keypads/razer-huntsman-...

It could be a million things. Faulty wiring sounds probable, as a failed flash usually tells you it failed.

Polarizing keyboard. I initially thought it felt great, but I am on the fence about it now. The click on the upstroke was something I couldn't get used to.

What are those keycaps? I've been thinking about getting some spherical keycaps for a while but they all seem so expensive, and it's even harder and more expensive to get them in UK layout. I would never complain about S30V, but I understand about not getting what they asked for. S30V is a very good steel, if it is tempered properly and beefy enough. Chips easy though, and the blade profile on the pic looks thin, so that's no good.

The problem is, magnets degrade when used in 'opposing' orientation, so that isn't a viable replacement for a spring.

Any idea what switches It may have? Certainly some sort of foam and foil. A bit off topic, but those certainly were then, and are now, a step below rubber dome, as foam was used as the 'substrate' as opposed to rubber, which feels... spongey. However, back in the day, rubber dome keyboards were a l...
