My DC-2014 uses long white switchplate blue Alps, I think they sound better than grey switchplate ones.

That's probably the result of a lot of other factors. There are about 3 distinct variations of blue alps, with different top housings, leaves, springs, etc.

Re: Alps Appreciation

because it uses shitcony caps, which stretch stems. Same with Montery boards. That's actually fixable. Take some pliers and put some cloth/paper towel around them (so that the metal tips don't scuff up the stem) and close the "gap" with the pliers by pushing them closer together. Don't press too ha...

Re: Alps Appreciation

Nice, I had one of those laser branded k102s too, I really liked the badge but I ended up slaughtering it for it's switches. Also on the note of the current discussion, DrClick can you see if those blue alps fit on regular alps keycaps. I had a Copam 430 which is probably one of the rarest blue alp...

Re: Alps Appreciation

Fun fact, there are actually about 3 different kinds of blue alps switches, with different thicknesses of leaves, different tops, and other differences that can affect the feel. I know that Ai03 (not sure if they're on deskthority) have assembled a board out of a combo of the different parts, and i...

You could try putting an EMI shield on top of the controller. Some thin foil or something could work. But try and prevent it from shorting out the components!

Paleolithic Cherry board with unique numpad keycaps. Pad printed, triple-shot or dyesubbed, do you think? (Has doubleshots elsewhere...) Looks to me like it has at least some pad printing on the numpad... Plus one key is very spcl ! https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

Anyone care to hazard a guess what was in this unbranded board that I missed on German eBay? Sold as a mystery board for around 30€ plus shipping as seller wasn't quick enough to post a nudie shot. My bid was 22€ and now I'm curious. I was thinking definitely ALPS mount caps. It's always the chance...

Re: Ah, this unique beauty!

Ebay gods were smiling down upon me. This arrived today. The F9 key is missing and the switch is broken, missing the slider. Thinking I'll just buy a replacement switch and replace the guts. See if that works. My first blue alps board and it feels amazing. Using Soarer's USB converter. Had to move ...

Re: Help with a cursed model F 122

On second thoughts, I am guessing the foam isn't in the best condition. I removed the keycaps to clean the barrel frame, and after reassembling - the keys make the same spongy sound as my other Models F do when the foam is bad. Fantastic. I love how everything I touch ends up fucked. It'll be just ...

Hey guys, I found a acer 6023 keyboard long ago and I have time to clean it today. I thought they were faded skcm blues but there are some bulges in the stem :o Remind me of gainsborough's KB-101A/TK So they are not faded blues? The keycaps look like signature plastics, but that doesn't really narrow down anything, because they had keycaps for nearly every single mount out there.

Keycaps look like the ones that are on the chicony 5160, so it could be alps. Not sure though.

The profile and the lettering are a dead giveaway. The super sharp corners too.

Basically, the cleaner you buy them, the more you stack the deck in your favour.
