Beamspring Registry

I have always thought it would be a cool idea if there was a public database where you can document beamspring keyboards, and possibly other extremely rare keyboards. It would be a really interesting way we could get a better scale for how many of these keyboards are out there. At the same time comp...

I'm not sure why those videowriter boards go for so much more than other Brown ALPS boards. Are they easily converted to USB and then using them, or are people harvesting switches? I honestly believe the one that I sold at auction is a 1 off deal. I would be really surprised if this one sells for t...

hammelgammler wrote: Does anyone know what a fair price for a Beamspring 5251 and Beamspring Displaywriter (with rare wrist rest) is? I might want to sell both, although I'm not quite sure.
A fair price would be 700-800. If selling on ebay I would say 1250 for the 5251, and 1100 for the displaywriter.

In any case, these boards are lovely! Yeah he had told me that at one point he had 3 or 4. The one that snacks has is in a little bi...

I have already bought one of these, and it is quite nice. The switches could probably use a good cleaning, but a very interesting keyboard.

As someone who normally isn't into heavily modified vintage keyboards, this is an amazing keyboard. Very impressive work. He payed attention to every little detail, and it really payed off with the finished project.

Absolutely incredible find. The slider is just like all of the double action switches I have seen. That also might be one of the best sounding linear switches that I have heard. I love the bottoming out sound. #dta2018 For sure.

Brett's Blue Alps Collection

After seeing Gainsborough's collection post, and Nathen Kim's videos, I wanted to try my hand at it. So here is my blue alps keyboards that I have amassed, and a typing demo of each. I do not have a huge collection, as my favorite part of the hobby is restoring keyboards, along with browsing eBay al...

No idea why anyone would think that was a good idea.... still an awesome looking board though, even if it can’t be desolder we! You are right, it has a weird matte coating over the switches and backplate....

Big Zenith Keyboard Haul

As some of you guys might know, Zenith had a contract with the US air force in the 80's. They supplied them with lots of their computer's and laptops. The contract came out to be 242 million dollars for 90,000 desktop computers. Lots of these desktop computers came with Zenith Z-150's and Z-KB2's. S...
