Update: There is also BLE version of this controller powered by Nicenano: https://photos.app.goo.gl/GaDo66SxXfx8YZRC6.
I've found a bug in latest revision of thumb cluster PCB — columns are reversed for right thumb cluster. Once I fix it, I'll also add BLE version of controller PCB to repository.

Kin80: controller for Kinesis keyboards with mechanical F-row
I finally found the time to publish this project on Github: https://github.com/DmNosachev/kin80 Kin80 is a set of replacement PCBs and switch mounting plates for Kinesis Contoured keyboards. The main reasons for creating this project: I don't like Cherry Browns. They still have to be desoldered, so ...

Try to launch it manually. Launch PowerShell, 'cd' to your 'tools' directory, and then: .\scas.exe .\m122.sc m122.scb .\scwr.exe .\m122.scb You should see something like this: scas v1.10 No errors. yet another replacement controller for Kinesis
https://i.imgur.com/7TRMLbo.jpg I want to show you yet another replacement controller for Kinesis Contoured keyboards: KinBP ('Kinesis Blue/Black Pill'). There are a least 6 similar projects: 'Stapelberg' and KinT by Michael Stapelberg. They use quite expensive devboard, Teensy 2.0++ (KinT addition...

Re: Handwired + Teensy + QMK = Confused
Update: Looks like this "Cumulus" keyboard represents the case when there is real need to trace all the matrix manually (visually). I've done this in Photoshop ( file ) and here are my findings: Matrix is 17x9, not 16x8 as we expected from the initial brief look. There are two pairs of keys that con...

Re: Handwired + Teensy + QMK = Confused
P.S. Multi-unit vertical keys (2U "Tab" and 3U "=" on this keyboard's numpad) are considered to be on the same row with their top part. E.g. 3U "=" key is placed in the same logical row as "4", "5", "6" and "," keys (see cumulus.h).
P.P.S. Precompiled debug firmware.

Re: Handwired + Teensy + QMK = Confused
a VirtualBox Linux VM is OK to use, right? I do have a couple other machines that I could install a full version of Linux, if necessary. Re: Handwired + Teensy + QMK = Confused
Good news: your PCB is quite easily traceable and has 8x16 matrix with diodes (ROW2COL direction in terms of QMK). Bad news: you need 16+8=24 IO pins to drive it. Pro Micro has only 18 and Teensy 2.0 has 21 (AFAIR). The good choise for this project would be WeAct STM32F401. It's supported by QMK, ha...

P.S. I have got a Model 110 also. It had a huge PCB which took up half of the case and combined thumbclusters and controller components. I've tried to use some leftover Amoeba PCBs for this build among with similar smaller versions, but that turned to be completely unnecessary (it was easier to go with h...

Re: Heavily modded Kinesis Contoured
I wish those models with doubleshots were easier to find. This one has padprinted keycaps. Doubleshots were used on ever older models: 100, 110, 120 and some of 130s. The keywell connectors in the older ones seem to be somewhat unreliable. That's one of the reasons why I prefer to tear down everyth...

Re: Heavily modded Kinesis Contoured
My next project is KinBP, fork of KinT controller by Michael Stapelberg . It is smaller (less than 100x100mm) and runs on $3.5 Black Pill STM32F103C8T6 board instead of expensive (>$20) Teensy 2.0++/3.x/4.x boards. Total cost of PCB and components is going to be around $15. I need about 1 month to r...

Heavily modded Kinesis Contoured
This isn't my first modded Kinesis. I've modded 4 of them in a similar way by replacing switches (I'm not a fan of Cherry MX Browns), replacing rubber top row with mechanical switches and handwiring it all to a custom controller running QMK. https://i.imgur.com/vlfQQQQ.jpeg But this one was special....

Use hid_listen to determine the scancodes, then look for them in 'Modified HID Code' table (codes.html, Soarer's Converter docs).
