That keyboard is stunning in its blue color scheme. But IMO the terminal base unit is even more stunning with its futuristic styling. Actually, I think the correct word today would be "retrofuturistic." People were so optimistic about the future of technology back in those days.

Keycaps are interchangeable between the Model M and F. But if you buy them from Unicomp piecemeal, you will get mismatched fonts. You're better off buying an entire Model M from them and using the keycaps (at $84 they are a steal). Or buy a broken Model M on eBay as Wolf123rt suggested.

If you want clicks, get a Model F ... they're the real thing. You owe it to your fingers to try a Model F. I agree. I was a Model M supersnob until I rediscovered the Model F. I say "rediscovered" because I must have used one in the early days of the PC but I forgot all about it until I got my F122...

Stunning keyboard, it takes the space cadet to the next level. I'm not sure I would want to do some actual work on that thing (it's so busy it would drive me crazy), but I'd gladly look at it all day long, it's so amazing.

I think any civilized AI computer would be taken aback to find out that you are spreading Vegemite on your toast and not delicious Nutella.

The future of ALL switches is zilch. Nada. Nothing. The near-future is voice , and the not-too-distant-future is thought . Count me out of that vision of the future. If my computer knows what I'm thinking, so will the government. They may not care that I hate their kleptocratic oligarchy with...

The fly in the ointment is the numpad 0 key – it has the unnecessary “ins” on it. If somebody has a 0 key without “ins” and it is stabilized with a rod (as opposed to wire stabilized) and wants to sell it to me, I’d be super grateful. :)

I love those old multicolor ribbon cables. You don't see that anymore in modern devices.

That keyboard... If the aliens land in my backyard, that's what I would expect to see on the console of their spaceship.

Gosh, I just hope they don't say, "Take us to your leader!"

They are in a serious need of a re-tooling. Not just retooling but attention to details and quality control. And willingness to innovate a bit. Arguably Model M keyboards are not designed for gaming so it would be silly to garnish them with multicolor lights, but a volume knob would not be a bad id...

Unicomp... ARGH!!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm more that grateful that Unicomp is still producing a Model M (sort of) and that they still sell parts... but with their legendary attention to details I would have been better off buying a defective Model M keyboard on eBay and using it for keycaps. I ordered left and right s...
