Re: Wanted: IBM Portable Personal Computer 5155 Keyboard

I know the keyboard is internally identical to a standard XT Model F so it should have the same internal connector, then it has a coiled section that sort of sits in a try at the top of the keyboard, and then something like 8-10" I'd guess of straight with something like an rj11 plug at the end. I ...

Re: Consul 262.3 terminal keyboard. New!!! In the original packaging, documentation.

i think that you are pricing it way way too high if you expect someone to pay that much for what is a fairly common board In the new state they are very rare and I did not see them being sold in the foreseeable past in such condition. I think you are a little bit too optimistic about the market for...

Re: Wanted: IBM Portable Personal Computer 5155 Keyboard

And if you really are in a hurry to use your 5155 you can take off the outer case theres the standard xt connector at the back. That's what I've been doing but I have one model F for 3 XT machines so that's not really a long term option. I did use that to test it and make sure everything is working...

see here. 110$

Edit: sorry it seems like someone modified this keyboard to use on a standard XT so it is basically without cable again. I would suggest you snatch the Ebay one for cheap and wait until someone put a cable up for sale.

Re: IBM 5251 beamspring spacebar

I found that the contamination shield on the 3278 somehow held the plastic clips that the stabilizer bar goes into still. When I removed the shield the clips jostled around. When you secure the clips with tape or foam to keep the rattling down the spacebar is much less loud. i spotted that too. How...

Uhh are you sure this isn't some kind of dome with slider or something? Oo
Most likely is. I should clarify when I say "alps" clone I just mean alps mount switches generally. Sorry for the confusion.

Never seen this type of alps/alps clone before. Maybe it's pretty obvious but I'm a noob in alps so anyone know what this is?

Edit: Please excuse the poor quality photo. This is not my keyboard asking for a friend.

Re: IBM 5251 beamspring spacebar

What kind of spacebar the 5251 uses? I think it is the same style as the 3278. In this case I use some tape to prevent the stabilizer bar from moving left to right and add some lubes to the hole which the stabilizer bar goes into. No rattling anymore. Hope this helps. Edit: I have no idea why the sa...

I had a couple but tossed them out because they had turned to sticky black goo. As a tangential question, does anybody know how to restore old black plastic that has become sticky and nasty? All of the pads you circled are on 2u keys or the enter key therefore i do not think they would have had any springs on them in the first case Oh lord, I think you're right.
