Re: XT to PS/2 Converter for Model F

...The Converter is perfectly working with the keyboard Model F XT! ... That's great news. It would be great if Engicoder placed the source code so that it could be upgraded and work with all keyboards. There is a github page mentioned earlier https://github.com/engicoder/XT2PS2 . But the source co...

Re: XT to PS/2 Converter for Model F

Why do you need the converter? I temporarily use a keyboard with the AT/XT switch for tests, because I bought an original Model F XT keyboard on eBay. In the future, I will use Model F with this Converter, but for now the keyboard is in delivery. OK. Now I get it. I think there might be a timing is...

Re: XT to PS/2 Converter for Model F

Wait a minuet. Why do you need the converter? With that switch in AT mode, that keyboard should be compatible with AT or PS2 style motherboards. I'm just a little confused.

Does the AT cable use the same number of pins as the XT? So if I were to reconfigure the pins on the Dupont connector I can get it working? Yes, they use the same number of pins. The ps2 connecter added 1 pin, but the XT and AT used the same Din5 plug. Just double check that you have all the wires ...

Here's rev 2.0 of my version of Engicoder's XT2PS2 Keyboard Converter built on a breadboard. I must admit the first version was rushed a bit. I just looked at the schematic, placed some parts on the board and started connecting wires. It wasn't 'till near the end that I figured out that I had misrea...

Here's my version of Engicoder's XT2PS2 Keyboard Converter built on a perfboard and attached to my IBM 5155 that's been upgraded with a 286 motherboard. Works GREAT! Notice that the board needs to be tucked under the keyboard pc board due to the 5155's keyboard enclosure. Thank you Engicoder for the...

@Engicoder, Are you using the 10 mhz or 20 mhz ATttiny85? Does it matter?

Thank You Engicoder for that Schematic. That should make it really easy to wire up on a breadboard. Will one of these work for programming the Attiny85? https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11801

Did you find firmware for this converter somewhere? Yup, Firmware here https://github.com/engicoder/XT2PS2 EDIT; It seems the firmware file is not there? Is this just an empty repository? I could have sworn it was there before. Anyhow, looks like Engicoder provided the file in a later post here. ht...

Anyone Want to help me here? I'm going to attempt to wire this together on a small breadboard. At least tell me the value of the resistors. I think I can see 99 percent of the traces on those great pictures from the first post. So, I should be able to figure out the wiring from that, but I'm having ...

I am also very interested in one of these for my 5155. Anyone know where the schematic can be found or gerber file or a board that I can copy? It seems the OP is no longer responding to this thread but there is still interest from at least a few of us. @soviet9922; I recognize your username from VCF...
