Fwiw, I cracked one of these (Q503A) open to find it already had diodes in it.

Open a few (like 3) and just rub off the dirt on the slider with your fingers. Get a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol and try to clean the rails. Should be a noticeable difference.

I have some z150's (which is the AT layout) and aek ii's (and other older apple keyboards), magnavox video writer (basically hhkb layout), and one dell at101, and one sgi Bigfoot (basically an at101)
