ClackyCon 2024, anyone there?

I was thinking of attending the Den Haag ClackyCon on April 6th, 2024. Will there be anyone else from the DT community? It could be an opportunity to meet and have a 🍻 together. Just for sharing some talks about our hobby. Please let me know. Ciao

Re: 5251 Beamspring key not activating

Thank you! That makes sense and is very helpful. Would I need to just remove the keycap of the O key when I remove the switch to adjust the spring, or will I need to remove all of them? You'd need to slide off the whole 'module' key from behind, opening up the keyboard back plate, taking the 'modul...

Re: 5251 Beamspring key not activating

Assuming that I am by no means a beam spring key expert, the issue you described reminded me a similar problem I experienced on a key module present on my 3278. It seems related to a misalignment of the module key metal slats, as well described by Ellipse in this video clip , which with the service ...

Wow, it's incredible how are they getting high with prices. Mine. Same manufacturing year, bar code label, square badge etc. Exactly 5 years ago was purchased on feebay for 174€, including shipping and custom fees from us to EU.
Anyone want to come forward with a proposal?

IBM model B 5251 in Italian (neapolitan) cult comical movie of '80s. 20230806_164202.jpg That's a typical case of lost in translation. I don't think any of you have never watched such a lovely movie whose title is "pacco, doppio pacco e contropaccotto" that should sound something like "Fraud, double...

Hi Karl, there's been this listing on the Italian Craig list, subito.it, for a while, but there is no cue about the price the seller is asking for. Try dropping him a line, even if I don't think the cost of shipping from Bologna is worth it.

I wouldn't be so fussy about it. I'm sure it could be employed as active dust cover for the tkl Apple magic keyboards, turning them into something very close to Topre keebs. Nice 1st April fool review, by the way Thomas.

I remember very well the MSX era as owner of one of its first experimental specimen, so much experimental to be out of the incoming standard, the svi -328.
Its keyboard was not bad at all aesthetically speaking, but very mushy and gummy at touch.

Aand it's done! PXL_20230313_001530600.jpg (yeah, it's an unicomp case. I don't have an SSK, too expensive) One can use top half of the keyboard case as a pedestal for the initial assembly: PXL_20230313_001708149.jpg With all that space left free, why don't consider an FSSK variant.... model n.jpg :D

Re: [WTS] EU-INT IBM M2 ISO/ANSI layout

Yes. I could state the opposite. I've seen many more M2 ISOs than ANSIs around here, so far. If no one comes forward, as i fear, I'll close it as ANSI, reserving me the chance to turn the M15 as ISO, sooner or later. That for sure would be an oddity never seen before..

[WTS] EU-INT IBM M2 ISO/ANSI layout

Want to sell a refurbished IBM model M2, capacitors replaced, tested and running for 80€

Should I assemble it as ISO (IT layout) or ANSI (US layout)? No peg broken during disassembling process.
