Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

I do have a minor issue with random keypresses though (extra keys when one key is pressed). It sounds like something the QMK beta would fix. Would I be able to get an invite? I installed the QMK beta this morning, and it has fixed this issue for me. I've been using the keyboard all day, and it has ...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

I've been having a bit of trouble with the space bar getting stuck on my F77, so I've raised the stabiliser tabs. This seems to have fixed it, but the space bar is a bit rattly now (it was really nice and solid before). I've experimented with different heights for the tabs, but can't seem to get the...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Hi Ellipse, my F77 arrived this week. It sounds and feels great! Thanks so much for all your hard work on this. It has certainly been worth the wait. I do have a minor issue with random keypresses though (extra keys when one key is pressed). It sounds like something the QMK beta would fix. Would I b...

Does the spacebar feel wobbly? If so, it may be the stabilizer mounts are cracked. If not, the stabilizer may just need a bit of lubricant. It does feel a little bit wobbly. I didn't notice any obvious cracks, but they do seem to roll quite a bit to the left. This is my first board with these PCB m...

Wyse PCE Space Bar

Hey guys, I recently purchased my first Wyse keyboard, a PCE (#840358-01) from '94. Overall I really like it, but the space bar seems a little loose & rattly to me. Here's a very quick sound test: 10N5OIgYwb4 Just wondering whether that space bar sound is normal for this type of board, or whether th...

I have an MK-96, I'll have to give this a try. Too bad I threw out all my s-video cables ... How do you like the MK-96? I quite like the sound of it, although the switches on mine could be a bit smoother. I find they sometimes stick a bit if I don't hit them at the right angle. Maybe they are just ...

I reassembled the keyboard last night, and tested it a bit more thoroughly. Everything is working well, but I noticed an issue with a couple of keys: ` and \ If I press and release the ` key, I can see the scan codes logged in hid_listen with no latency (FF32 for the press and FFB2 for the release)....

It works! Thanks so much Hasu. Here's a new log. I pressed the 1,2,3 keys, unplugged the ADB cable (leaving the USB cable plugged in), plugged the ADB cable back in, and then typed the 4,5,6 keys. I didn't see any log messages when disconnecting/reconnecting the ADB cable, but it did log the 4,5,6 s...

Thanks Muirium. Sounds like Soarer's controller might be the go. I haven't done this before, but keen to give it a try. How do you normally go about mapping the matrix? I was thinking I'd remove the ICs and then use a multimeter to check connectivity between the switch pads and the IC pads - or is t...

Macally MK96

Hey guys, I picked up a cheap Macally MK96 last month, and have been working on restoring it. The plate was pretty rusty, so after doing a basic cleanup, I desoldered all the switches, removed the rust, and repainted the plate. I built an ADB to USB converter using a pro micro and Hasu's firmware. I...

Selectric Right Shift Key

I have a DisplayWriter that's missing the Code key, and I'm looking for a replacement. I've heard that a Selectric right shift key will fit, and wondering if anyone has a spare that they'd be willing to sell?

CommonSense is working so well on my Model F that I was thinking about using it to convert my DisplayWriter as well. Thanks Sandrax. Great work on your 3178 by the way. I think it was your post that gave me the idea to use CommonSense. I was was previously thinking of using an xwhatsit, but wasn't sure if it could be configured to handle 23 columns. I think I might need to adjust my wiring a bit, as I'm finding it...

I just finished wiring this up and reassembled the keyboard. After a bit of tweaking the hardware parameters in FlightController it's all working perfectly! Model M Ping

I did a screw mod on a Model M 1390120 last month (following Madhias' excellent guide) and I'm pretty happy with how it went. One thing that I've noticed is that this keyboard seems to have a lot more ping than my other Model M, a 1391401 that was already screw modded when I bought it. I don't reall...

That makes sense, thanks for the advice. Interesting that they only did it on the early models. I'll definitely leave the layers attached.
