Re: House mites (Glycyphagus domesticus) - Anyone else had them?

When I was a kid I lived in a street where at some point there was an infestation of pharaoh ants. They're very tiny and get absolutely EVERYWHERE, even in things with closed lids, like jam jars. There wasn't a meal we ate that didn't have ants in it, they even got into your drinks. The council had...

Re: House mites (Glycyphagus domesticus) - Anyone else had them?

I've moved a lot in ten years, and it appears that I've brought them with me with every move. The first house (my grandmother's house) was really, really dirty and damp and I remember seeing these mites frequently, even when not looking for them. Since they're so small, they pretty much anchor them...

Re: House mites (Glycyphagus domesticus) - Anyone else had them?

We had these a while ago when a slice of bread went unnoticed in the back of the cupboard a while back. The answer was to pull everything out of the kitchen, toss away any unsealed food, and bleach everything daily until the mites were gone. Took about 10 days. Good luck. Somewhat comforting to kno...

Re: House mites (Glycyphagus domesticus) - Anyone else had them?

These aren't the regular green blowflies that live off rotting meat or piles of shit. No, these bastards don't eat anything. They just look for a warm spot to spend the winter. They can squeeze into little tiny gaps and work their way to the attic, then come down through any little microscopic open...

Re: House mites (Glycyphagus domesticus) - Anyone else had them?

I came here to read about house mites, but the posts are missing. What happened? I'm not sure about house mites, but I've got a severe problem with motherfucking cluster flies. I'd never even heard of the bastards before I moved to this place. They invade my house in fall and come out all winter lo...

Re: Getting new gaming mouse, advice???

I've also tried a lot of gaming mice, as I went through a bit of a mouse-buying phase at the start of last year. Logitech's shapes aren't always the best, but the build quality is always solid in my experience. The RGB looks fantastic as well, especially when compared to the Steelseries Rival 600 an...

Re: Getting new gaming mouse, advice???

Since this dead thread has been revived, I will give my opinion on what the best gaming mouse is for the money. I'm currently using the Logitech G203, which is almost identical to the much more expensive G Pro. The G203's HERO sensor is supposedly "worse" than the G Pro's 3360, even though it still ...

Re: Reattaching space bar on 1983 IBM 4584656!!

Hi, Re-attaching the spacebar is not as scary as it seems! You don't need to bother with hooking the flipper to keep it in place - just use a blunt knife to keep it in its track while you lower the backplate. As for opening the assembly, you can use s pair of pliers to bend back the metal tab that's...

House mites (Glycyphagus domesticus) - Anyone else had them?

My kitchen has storage mites, or house mites (they don't even have a Wikipedia page or any general name that applies directly to this species). I used my microscope to identify them, which is kind of important as there are many mite species that look almost identical. These are not mold mites, dust ...

I'm not here to make foes or stir things up, just it would be nice to take a break from current affairs when I watch YouTube videos or come to Deskthority. There's a lot of hatred around and it's not helping anyone.

Unrelated, but what made you go for that keyboard? :o
I hate cables, and I'm too lazy to find a Hasu bluetooth controller to make one of my many HHKBs wireless
I do like the look of that keyboard. How is it to use? Romer-Gs sound great, but err... let's not speak about the key feel.

I own the exact one you linked and while it was ok, it did slip a little on a wood desk and seemed to get damaged easily. So I ended up buying this one as well to replace it: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07DYNHV2V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You might have to trim it do...

Re: finally the kishsaver (or 60%) has been completed

Few questions: 2. When changing over to the capacitive PCB, are you using the Model M flipper or Model F? It will be the Model F's flipper, as both serve different functions. The M's hammer strikes a membrane, whereas the F's flipper is made of a capacitive plastic that causes a change in capacitan...

I see now how one might misunderstand this question. Of course stabilizers clip to the PCB and screw-in stabilizers are only found on old boards. No, I meant clipped as in, modded, "legs clipped". A popular mod that I feel is essential to removing Cherry stabilizer mushiness. According to reviews, ...

Yeah, this is a truly fascinating build. I cannot believe the effort that went into making a custom board with notoriously unreliable, yet rare switches. I've never tried Omrons, but they must be nice.

I have only ordered the "PANIC" keys from unicomp, and I bought them in every color. None of the legends are printed in the same position. Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

The text alignment on some of the keys is clearly off. For example my Q is practically touching the top-left corner. The shift and caps lock keys have their text too high, and not vertically centered. But most of the keys have good enough alignment. And since I rarely look at the keys, I rarely not...

Re: I want to purchase a good keyboard! Help??

If you're looking for a straight upgrade from a cheap rubber dome keyboard, those tacky Chinese gamer keyboards are hard to beat. They have switches that are clones of the ubiquitous Cherry MX switches. They're usually just as good, if not better than the real deal, as the linear switches have less ...
