Re: F104+SSK+122+62+77+50+Ergo orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards
Really enjoyed the Google talk. Both highly informative and excellent presentation wise as well. One possibly really, really stupid question. So, cannot use the metal F104 case with Model Ms, but would the opposite work? I mean could I use regular plastic Model M case with the F104 inner assembly? W...

Thought that I would try and see what my F77 would look like with Ambra -keycaps and their non-standard keycap font and lower left placement . Re: Beam Spring 104+SSK Reproduction Project! First Batch In Stock, Shipping early next year after New Model F Project
Made the order on Round 2 despite being on the Round 1 interest list (I want ISO). Hope that is ok? Also, just wanted to note my interest for swedish-finnish layout keycaps, or alternatively happily for some sort of all Nordic (DK/FI/SWE/NO) set, if that would be easier to get to economically feasib...

Got the email. Going to order Round 2 ISO model, but I have not really followed the project in a long time. Couple of questions, as I do not really understand the options on Round 2 and the pictures do not have model info/names: What is a BSSK keyboard? Something like this https://deskthority.net/vi...

Re: Enabling an IBM 122-key terminal keyboard non-invasively?
I don't think that there are any converters that would do that out of the box, but you could do it with two converters. First make Soarers's converter for the F122. That would give you USB out of F122. Then use USB to XT converter for connecting to the 5160. Not really elegant solution, but it shoul...

They are linear switches and pretty bad ones. Quite bad rough/scratchy feel. I have an Ericsson keyboard with same switches. They do excel in stabilisers. The best stabilised large keys that I have tried. Large keys mount on two switches. One of them usually a dummy switch that has just the mount, b...

Re: Possibility of modding a 5pin DIN connector to USB
If I understand correctly, you do not want to modify 5pin DIN connector ( as the title says), but just use old keyboard cable with modern USB mini and USB A plugs? For that, cut the DIN connectors from the cable. Then use use this digram. It shows USB A and USB mini pin outs. 5pin DIN cable has 5 ca...

Re: Do 'flat' or low profile keycaps exist for IBM buckling spring?
Two part BS keycaps are slightly taller than single piece ones. The difference is really small, something like 1mm or so. One of the (many) reasons why single piece Unicomp pearl alphanumericals cannot be used to replace missing keys on older IBM Model Fs and Ms. I mean something like using single p...

Re: Are IBM Model F122's really worth this much now???
I bought one for 250$ in late February. Definately worth that. With shipping USA->Finland + EU customs + nordic VAT it cost total of 403€. Still worth it (IMHO). Just check reddit's mechnical forum and there are people spending insane amounts for the flavour the week MX clone hipster switch boards. ...

Feels like I have seen this Focus 727 with Blue Alps appearing on Ebay many times within few months from the same seller in Ireland. And maybe the seller has just had many of these, but few times I have bid on his/her Blue Alps board, then it gets relisted for much higher price, disappers, gets reli...

Do you know of anyone successfully converting one of these to work on modern pc's? It's probably not that hard - it's brainless. And the matrix seems unusually easy to decode. Could propbaly do it just based on pictures posted alone. Super easy to follow traces, clearly marked and numbered switch l...

Should I look for some kind of signs of wear or some kind of known quality issues? Like if there is something obvious in model Ms? Keys not registering or uneven feel. You can also just shake it a bit and hear the broken rivets moving inside the case. Oh and, if you need to open it, the nut driver ...

Judging from pictures, this is originally terminal version with RJ45 connector? I have converted couple of those using just very cheap RJ45 to DB9 connectors. Plenty of cheap options around, for example: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32841504259.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dyzpOl5 I connect ...

People who mind customs should not import.
Or the very least not expect their custom fees to be responsibility of the exporter.
