Re: Key Profile Comparisons
Awesome photos! Think you put the wrong photo for the m0110 though. What profile do you type fastest on/make the least mistakes?

Re: Reproducing Alps Keycaps (IC)
DCS is pretty thin, isn't it? Yep, even thinner than Tai Hao keycaps. And don't get me started on how terrible the legends are, at least for Alps Throwback. The mod legends were thinner than the alphas, they used serif for the I key but nothing else, and different size/misaligned borders depending ...

Re: Are there two types of undamped Cream ALPS?
I believe the first mention of the different weightings between SKCM Cream from a Next vs Canon was here: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=45456.msg2182133#msg2182133. Jacobolus also put a picture differentiating the differences between the two switches here: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic...

Re: Alps Appreciation
Acer KB123 with SKCM Blue Alps! I replaced the original macro keys at the top with blanks for now because some of the keycaps were missing. Also appears to be missing a power button/joystick on the upper corner, although I can't verify what used to belong there. Also has quite a funky layout, with ...

Re: A case of keyboard hibernation?
The contacts corrode. Try pressing keys down and wigging so as to exercise the crosspoints. Surface corrosion comes off with exercise. You can try electronic contact cleaner, it's often just isopropyl alcohol and propellant. What he said, while the switch is still assembled, pull up on the slider a...

Re: Alps Appreciation
Pretty cool SKCM Blue keyboard in a compact F77-like asian layout with an integrated trackball(similar to the Rabbit 286 with blue alps minus the trackball). Despite it's dirt and mucked up case and keycaps, the internals are surprisingly clean and it feels nice(not great) and consistent enough to t...

Re: Alps Appreciation
Just bought some loose SKCM blue switches off ebay, to go into an Lunar AEK build. Does anyone have experience with the Nexus sliders? I want to use MX keycaps with them. I assume I'm the one that sold you them. For the Lunar AEK, the case was designed around the AEK keycaps due to their curvature ...

Re: IBM 4704 Model 100 "F50"
Nice specimen indeed! The dating on these is weird, sometimes they'll get refurbished and I've seen F107's with date stickers showing as late as 1996, some of them being internal stickers on the curved backplate. The F107 I listed yesterday (and which promptly sold in less than half an hour) had a ...

IBM 4704 Model 100 "F50"
The IBM 4704 Model 100, nicknamed the F50, is a small macropad-like keyboard from the same family as the Kishsaver. This thing is dense, made out of cast zinc like the kishsaver, making it weight 2600 grams! That's almost as much as a Model F XT, which weighs around 2700 grams. It features relegenda...

IBM 43G2455 w/ "Prototopre"
Had this keyboard for a little while now and finally have the chance to take some pictures. It has what people consider "prototopre" switches, which is just a name for the rubberdomes that brother used in their keyboards at the time. Similar to the original find by Haata https://deskthority.net/view...

wri63nwovqk21.jpg One of the most unique ssks next to the displaywrite IMO. Re: Alps Appreciation
Nice, I had one of those laser branded k102s too, I really liked the badge but I ended up slaughtering it for it's switches. Also on the note of the current discussion, DrClick can you see if those blue alps fit on regular alps keycaps. I had a Copam 430 which is probably one of the rarest blue alps...

Re: ALPS CP10SJ550A Kanji Keyboard
Absolutely magnificent. And with SKCL Green, too, let alone the sphericals (and relegs). What a board! If you decide you review it, it'll be better if you trael to JP!'s instead of having the keyboard sent to you.   Yes Chyros should visit :) There are other board's I'm sure would b...

Re: ALPS CP10SJ550A Kanji Keyboard
I find it kind of ironic I ask JP if he would sell me his texas instruments board, but says he won't but needs to downsize his collection. If this his definition of downsizing then we must be living on two different planets. Only saying this because I'm just a little bit jealous.... just a tad.

Well shit, now I need to go dig up the one up I found which I for sure know didn't come with skcl switches. Maybe I found an earlier / later model to the one you found, or maybe something completely different. Who knows, maybe I'm going to have to attempt to visit my local abandoned barn and try and...

Re: Model M appreciation
Whoa, I didn't know that fake Ms with blue Alps were a thing. TIL. How's the build quality vs the real deal? As far as knock offs go that's pretty sweet. Edit: looks like they used pad printing or something that rubs off easily on the key caps in your photos. Depends on your definition of build qua...

Re: Model M appreciation
Didn't think anyone would have the heart to scam me, let alone for a keyboard. I was sold this keyboard expecting to receive buckling springs but what I was greeted with when typing still haunts me to this day. I expected to press the switches and feel a smooth, consistent, and satisfying click only...

I mean, anything is for sale for the right price! Just know by the time you get these keycaps, I will have enough gold from the badges of your keyboards, to start the next Gold Rush of 1849.//gainsborough wrote: ↑29 May 2019, 16:43Yooo! Re: Stuff you just bought
Something big... keyboard.jpg I've seen that keyboard before, thought it was the IBM 5556-5 and got a little excited. I don't recall which switch was in it but it wasn't anything I was particularly interested in or knew anything about IIRC. I'll try and find where I found that keyboard.
