I'm in the same boat. I have 2 of the switch testers and I've been looking for one of these boards for a while.
One switch tester doesn't have the foam in it and is much clickier and louder and I like it a lot more. I'm wondering what other people prefer or if they have tried it like that.

Re: Beamspring space bar broken
That board looks great! But have you mounted all the switches rotated by 180° (stems angled towards the front instead of the back) on purpose? That results in the weirdest keycap profile, I've seen so far. Those pictures are of when it arrived. I am giving it a thorough cleaning and replacing the f...

Re: Where do you guys store your keyboards?
It is a pity to keep them closed in their postal boxes. I think you have enough room in that corner to set a Ikea BESTA up as I made with mines. What do you think of my Ikea low cost solution? Consider anyway that I slightly modded it adding some extra shelves, some of them were also further modded...

Re: Beamspring space bar broken
Unfortunately, broken is the way it came and I don't have the broken off piece. Here are some picks so far. I am replacing the foam right now. https://imgur.com/a/yUSlwhp Other than this space bar everything looks to be in really nice shape. It was listed as a 3276 but I don't see anything in it tha...

Beamspring space bar broken
I'm going about fixing up my newly acquired beamspring and the stabilizer hole on the underneath of the spacebar is broken. Pics Broken side https://i.imgur.com/6KNkh54.jpg https://i.imgur.com/jaev6sp.jpg Good side https://i.imgur.com/pQtemFj.jpg Anyone have some suggestions for repairing it?

Re: Where do you guys store your keyboards?
2 IKEA KALLAX shelves with a bunch of cheap metal file sorters and even that isn't enough . I've added about 15 more boards to my collection since this pic was taken. Plus those are just my vintage boards.
Could really use some organization.

I made a mechanical gaming keypad
https://github.com/Ayehavgunne/pypad I made a replacement for my Razer Tartarus V2. It is a gaming focused Keypad with 21 buttons, a scroll wheel and an analog joystick. I originally used a PyBoard but had to switch to a Teensy after finding some of the PyBoard's limitations. I also couldn't get Mi...

Avant Stellar project (Amber Alps)
I recently got a black Avant Stellar off eBay because I knew it would be perfect for my Amber Alps project. https://i.imgur.com/4QmA9wR.jpg More Pics I had been hunting down enough Amber Alps for a full size keyboard for a while but once I had them I was unsure about what to put them in. Re: [IC] NOS Alps SKCM White, Futaba MA41
I'm very interested in the Alps SKCM Whites. I would also buy around 200-300 depending on price. About the Futaba MA switches, are they more clicky on the upstroke? I have a couple boards with them and the clickiness on the downstroke is kinda disappointing but the upstroke is much louder. I hear th...

Re: Stuff you just bought
I never expected to win this ADDS space invaders board for $20.00, but I guess it's mine now. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/ZAMAAOSwJ~xcMhBx/s-l1600.jpg Any idea what I should do with this? All these terminals are likely scrapped, unfortunately, so I'm thinking of completely rewiring the matrix wi...

Re: Post a picture of your ideal keyboard layout!
https://i.imgur.com/utWZ8E3.jpg This is a layout I've been thinking about lately. I am a Python programmer so I wanted to make my most used symbols easier to access. I also dislike typing numbers without the numpad. Some keys I *hate* like caps lock and insert so they are gone. I don't use numlock,...

I should have also mentioned that I prefer full-size keyboards even though the CLS does look nice. Thanks!
And I wouldn't mind desoldering a vintage board with crappy switches.

Recommend chassis for Dampened Cream Alps
So I recently purchased some Dampend Cream Alps switches. I plan on cleaning, click modding and lubing them. I am on the lookout for a chassis that they can call home that will bring out the sound the best. What do you recommend? Edit: should have mentioned originally that they are Dampend Cream Alps.
