Re: IBM Model F AT Bolt/Nut size?
Conrad sells hex drivers individually for about 5/6 euros. If they don't work , you can return them.

I still fail to see whats gone into it for pricing it at 300 USD. Realforce should hang their heads in shame for pricing a plastic cased rubber dome with 10 bucks in parts for 300 USD!!!

Re: What uk layout “gaming” keyboard should I get?
No clue about the UK, in Germany returns are standard practice. Since our last 5 years in Germany , on average my wife returns 9 out of every 10 orders each year. Whenever items were prepaid for , money came back within a week. But most of our orders are on invoice (common practice in Germany as Ger...

Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!
The German keyboard layout is just hideous. QWERTZ is the most retarded thing that ever happened to a keyboard. But then I had the misfortune to see an AZERTY layout on a Belgian colleagues laptop, that was the last meeting I had with him ever !!!

Re: IBM model F XT not working suddenly
From what I understood from your post - your keyboard is unresponsive even after switching two different soarer's converters. The keyboard did work before you mention. So first of all stop disassembling the keyboard and putting it back on. That's not the problem. You only risk destroying the flipper...

Re: Xwhatsit solenoid driver alternative
Personally I prefer to use a solid state relay as well. The diagram only represented the wiring against relay pins, I'll change it to a solid state relay. Also, I'll use a parallel usb for the source of power for the relay. I was a bit incorrect - relay is high-side, so it will work with a power su...

So here's how the schematics look solenoid_ed.jpg Updated: Added a Diode for safety. Notice the Labels on the Relay. It is IMPORTANT that you connect the cables correctly. The sequence of pins will differ by manufacturer. For the output you will need to connect to "COM" and "NO". This is assuming yo...

Re: Repair or replace cable on Lexmark Model M13
Why not just convert to USB? Just open up the keyboard, remove the original cable, pry open one of those cheap ps/2 to USB converters and solder the chip (harvested from the active converter) directly to the original model M controller.

Xwhatsit solenoid driver alternative
I thought this needs mentioning, you can use a 50 cent relay to drive the solenoid. Yes that’s all one needs! Earlier this year, I tried to assemble a few solenoid drivers but abandoned the project as SMD soldering needs ninja soldering skills. So with a bit of research and reading around, the idea ...
