Likewise - I had to stop myself asking about a couple of yours. My wife now practically has an allergic reaction to rectangular parcels. Good luck with the Xtreme Xmit Xit Mission. Nope, never won a Wingnut. Kind of like Leo DiCaprio and an Oscar - I'll never get one! https://deskthority.net/viewtop...

Re: Summer Sale - Many keyboards - UK/EU

Next couple of days should be good! I’m just photographing the second batch. Also trying to keep on top of messages. It’d be so much easier if the DT system organised it by conversations instead of many separate messages per person.

WTB - broken/damaged/cheap Futaba board

Futaba clicky switches are some of my favourite, and one of my favourite keyboards has these, but one key requires a harder press than all the others. Probably wouldn’t be a problem or even noticeable for a heavier-handed typist, but it bugs me. Therefore, I’d like to solder out that switch and swap...

Hehe sorry for opening a can of blue worms! I hadn’t made any final agreements and was going to come back to you, guidemetothelight, to see your response. Summer Sale - Many keyboards - UK/EU

Hello everyone, It's been a while. A growing family and sadly non-growing living space necessitate another big sale. But my loss is your gain! These are the first batch I've photographed - there'll be maybe 20 or so more later this week or next. I've been out of the loop for a bit but I think these ...

Re: Whatever happened to ________?

I think it's just the nature of this hobby to be in and out. I've been a member of GH since 2011, but if I look at my post history there's really only 3-4 periods where I was active on the site. True. If it's just that he got bored or is busy or something, I'm fine with that. I guess all of us are ...

Re: Nopre Electro-Capacitive Switches: A Good Topre Alternative? (Niz Plum/Abko)

I was after a HHKB JP for a while, thinking it would be the ultimate. Glad I never got one though, as (a) I hadn’t noticed the stagger was different - though maybe I’d’ve got used to it; (b) I now love the regular HHKB’s backspace position, whereas the JP backspace is not only further away but singl...

Ranking doesn't work in first question.
It worked when I dragged-and-dropped, rather than clicking on the arrows. Not the most intuitive.

Re: A new Model F setup issue you haven't seen before

It's tales like this that put me off ordering one of these directly. I know I'd be awful at fixing any issues, of which there seems to be quite a variety. Mind you, if anyone is already bored of theirs (!) or in need of the cash, I'd be interested in buying a ready-to-use one with all the bumps iron...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Never mind - I just bought one rather than risk they ran out (when I sent through an offer there were 7 competing offers - clearly a lot of interest) £24 is a good price to try a new switch. I passed up the chance to get an Alps Buckling Spring board recently which I half regret, but they are said ...

Re: New Model M vs Old IBM Model M

If I ever do IBM Model M old stock, would you say the older the better quality? I would still use my New Model M over it due to the Windows keys. But I would love to see how the best of the Old Model M's would compare. Depends what you mean by quality. If you’re after more weight, older = heavier. ...

Re: Niz vs Topre at 45g+

Aha, I’ll take this one as I have a 35g Niz, 45g Niz, 45g Topre and used to have a 55g Topre. I agree the 35g Niz switches are almost linear. If you press one slowly with a single finger you can feel a little bump, but at ordinary typing speeds it’s barely there. I like them though! You can type fas...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYSWITCH thread

My feeling is they will sell as someone will find them useful or beautiful. If they don’t, I’d be interested in taking just the keycaps off your hands. And if anyone has some Greek IBM caps, I’d love them too.
