I'd be interested in the "terminals" and controller unit actually but I doubt they offer shipping lol

If you're going to do this there should probably be greater differentiation in the 3270 section. The 3270 in the photo is actually a keyboard from a 8775 terminal.

Re: Dick Harris question/answer thread

I'd like to know who designed the spacebar stabilizer for the Displaywriter. That's one of the most impressive (as impressive as a stabilizer can be I guess) stabilizers I've seen. Hi I discussed with Dick and this should be the production version of the 3rd and 4th page space stab from the pdf abo...

Re: IBM Bezelmaster

Now for a serious keyboard hack. When you're out of foam and you're keeping things too 💯 to buy more for $40, just use papertowels. It works even better with XT keyboards because each barrel has a built in stabber to hold the papertowel in place.

Cleaned with a toothbrush and Dawn. Let the barrels sit in hot water for about 15 mins to disolve the tar on them. Then scrubbed with toothbrush.

Re: [WTB] Displaywriter Beamspring Controller

With the Displaywriter you have the use the Model F controller because of the PCB matrixes. Orihalcon did a post on it some years back. Oh that's cool. The thread mentioned, also linking to firmware The SMD version of the Model F controller . I'm guessing this should also work? The price for 5 of t...

Re: [WTB] Displaywriter Beamspring Controller

Why is everybody so worked up and edgy? I know keyboards are an antisocial hobby but come on - are the insults and passive aggressive comments really worth it? I have an extra model F xwhatsit controller, but it would need to be reflashed with the appropriate firmware for beamsprings and then solder...

Re: Restoration blunders

My biggest blunder was something that was not terribly traumatic for me, but when I first started restoring IBM Model F 122-key terminal boards I decided that since re-assembly was sometimes so difficult that I could devise a better system than the original "sliding force fit" .... So I put the boa...

Re: Restoration blunders

Your description of sepating plates with a screwdriver made me wince, but the picture clarified what was happening immensely. I've never used clamps or anything for any model f resto. I can't figure out why you'd need them unless the new foam was extraordinary thick?? I just clench it together with ...

Since there is almost no info about the Bezelmaster The IBM 5324 Computer Service Manual has a section on the keyboard, including scancodes, pinouts and layout diagrams. This screams for a picture of the bezelmaster and the bigfoot together (above and below, not side by side).
Why the specific orientation?
