You mad man!

I actually love it. Great layout. Anything that gives right hand space but has little impact functionality is a winner for me. What would you call this layout?
I am open to suggestions
I am leaning towards a play on unsaver, maybe resaver

Re: Extreme Model M Modding (m122 chop and 1u layout mod)

That better be original gangster graffiti! Why’d you chop the arrow cluster off as well as the (entirely understandable) numpad? A look? Or more of a psychopathy? Anyway, it’s got attitude, I’ll give it that. Maybe redo the traces like Xmit says and this time pay the original matrix more attention....

Re: Extreme Model M Modding (m122 chop and 1u layout mod)

Nice!!! I would encourage you to consider silver conductive glue/paste for future membrane repairs. It's worked really well for me. iu-2.jpeg I've also used archival quality packing tape to hold membranes together. Was considering a conductive glue for attaching the wires but i figured it wouldnt b...

Extreme Model M Modding (m122 chop and 1u layout mod)

My new key board https://i.imgur.com/J4YHiMH.png Here's link to imgur gallery showing the process: https://imgur.com/gallery/yCZXpi6 Extra info: I moved 8 pads (in 2 rows) from the numpad that i chopped off to the spacebar area to make my beautiful 1u layout. I connected them back with wires so that...

Re: IBM Model F AT - Wheelwriter Mod and Restoration

Nice job Does the AT PCB natively support the wheelwriter layout? I never was sure how people could ANSI mod the F AT (that many extra pads on the PCB?). indeed there are functioning pads under every barrel in the keyboard as well as where the alt keys would go. if im not mistaken the alt pads don'...

Hi, @fricked : any recent news on this project? (Or newer pictures/designs/schematics of parts to share?) Unfortunately I haven't been working on it lately :( There was much less interest than I expected so this project doesn't seem very viable. I might do it anyway counting on future uses for the ...

Re: [IC] IBM M2F Conversion Kit

Would be cool to support lock lights, although each generation of Model M had a different interface between the lights and the controller - so maybe its not feasible I will include the lock lights "header" on the pcb but people will have to figure out the connection themselves given that they diffe...

Re: [IC] IBM M2F Conversion Kit

Re: conductivity - get a 8B pencil (or pure graphite if you have access) and draw a solid plane of graphite on the bottom of the flipper. It would flake off after couple thousand keypresses - but for a quick check it should do. Note: NOT charcoal. Charcoal doesn't work for this particular case. Don...

Re: [IC] IBM M2F Conversion Kit

You just can't compare a group buy with sourcing independently the stuff from different vendors. Having the PCB and the controller delivered probably cost as much as a GB spot :-) that's why a smaller group buy could have been interesting while you source the flippers. Anyway, if you're so sure abo...

Re: [IC] IBM M2F Conversion Kit

Considering that engineering the flippers took ellipse a long time, why don't you just run a GB for PCB and the controller, without flippers ? This way people could use their own model f flippers, if they're compatible with the model m plate and barrels, and meanwhile you could further test your fl...

Fnhanced kfyboard? I'm in! I bet terminal Model M keyboards will be ideal "donor" boards, so that begs the issue of ensuring the necessary recabling and whatnot is considered as an integral (or at least, a close-to-core option) part of the project. A cable will most likely be included, I haven't ye...

No such plans at the moment, the M barrel plate is compatible with very little modification

[IC] IBM M2F Conversion Kit

This is an interest check for an IBM Model M to F conversion kit. The purpose of this mod: to replicate the superior Model F internals in the superior layout and availability of the Model M. The kit would include: - (110x) Model F flipper (reproduction; not an original IBM part) - (110x) Model F sp...

Re: Custom Space Invader Keyboard - God Layout?

Case was damaged, cable was cut, missing some crucial keycaps and a couple switches were faulty. "beyond repair" was definitely an exaggeration but it wouldn't be worth the effort in my opinion. Plus, I wouldn't even use it now that I'm switching to this layout ;)
