Computer Devices Teleterm 1030

Hello all. I see that JP! has one of these as well. Wanted to share my pics from my latest local purchase. From 1972 or 1973, likely the oldest in my collection. Not too many made that are older than this right? Please chime in with things that are older than this. I'd love to see the list. Image Ga...

Re: Raytheon

kralcifer, do you still have this Raytheon keyboard nearby? Can I ask you to make side shots of it, and, if possible, to take a few basic measurements of its dimensions? I wonder if I would be able to reproduce its look in custom handmade keyboard. Hi Diamond. Just saw this. DMA has it at the momen...

Congrats on the wyse. Thicc dcs keycaps can be hard to come by. I have like 8 so far and only one comes with those thicc caps.
Oh. I didn't realize that the Wyse had different sets. I just looked at a previous Wyse in my collection and the keycaps are super thin. Thank you for pointing that out!

So the the AT&T essentially a rebadged Model M?
That's what it looks like to me. OEM is IBM with AT&T getting an italic font on the keycap shell.

Can't imagine AT&T doing it themselves by copying.

Re: Vintage keyboard haul

Maybe we should donate my NIB kaypro and your NIB dot matrix to a worthy museum? I have mixed feelings about many museums tbh. Museums are an expensive endeavor and many times fail to get started or eventually end up going out of business even in good times. A lot of this commodity / mass produced ...

Pretty sweet haul and a nice variety of switch types. I scored a Kaypro 1 myself along with a couple extra keyboards a couple years ago. I even have a new in box dot matrix printer with it. Stabilizers vs Switches

Are stabalizers originally a way to save money on additional switches? Seems like it would have better to simply place a neutered switch or two for the stability. For cherry mx I'd imagine you just cut the contact legs from the bottom of the additional switches. The reason we likely can't do that to...

Re: Epson Q703D-AA conversion

It's a 9 inch dual ended cable so if this end goes bad I have lots of wire on the other end! I had the amps too limited at .1A. I upped the max to 1A and now I'm seeing different behavior. Now, with 9V and 1A turning it on results in 9V and .16A. Same with 12V. I measured the voltage via solder join...

Re: Epson Q703D-AA conversion

my DC power supply doesn't mention bipolar anywhere and internet search didn't say it either for me. I set it to 9V and .1A and then when I turn the output on, the keyboard lights up and voltage reads 5.58V and .1A. You can see that in the first pic at the top of page 2.

One thing I just noticed is that it appears to be a trait that Micro Switch did with the bookend L-shaped keys. I stumbled upon it in an old DT thread for a Decision Data 8010 as well.

Re: Xerox Custom Build Plans

Love all of it. Love Kevin's pcb. I still think you gotta make the track pad round though. Why can't you have a round cutout in your top plate and mount a square track pad underneath. fingers can only glide in the round exposed hole but should work fine to maneuver shouldn't it?
