Re: Alps wax mod - procedure & evaluation!

As much as I hate the general attitude here, I feel the need to write down something longer (compared to my usual short whining). The method clearly works, I think several people made that quite clear. No long time results yet, but transforming absolutely trashed switches into a near perfect state ...

Unknown keyboard ;) DF92BEAF-DE0B-40DA-AA3E-250562D15CC3.jpeg That thing is b r e a t h t a k i n g Really stuck? Like totally jammed? These boards have a few latching keys in strange places, mind. https://deskthority.net/download/file.php?id=71192 Hey! I recognise that model ! The case is super flimsy, right? Real strange match for such a solid inner assembly and superb thick caps. Yess it is! Luckily tho it's fine and nothing is broken or anything - some keys are really stuck and from what ...

Don’t forget the PM search function! Losing that here in the great backend transition really threw me off my game. Same for 7bit, whose empire relied on full text notification emails.
Already included. Another thing nexthority provides is group PM's!
That sounds like great fun :D

Vintage Boards in/on a vintage cabinet 8-) IMG_20211003_162741.jpg IMG_20211003_162755.jpg And I'm using cardboard boxes just like most people here. Padded them with foam on the inside or packed the boards in bubblewrap-bags. On my most precious ones, I did both. IMG_20211003_162812.jpg That cabine...

A few of those and you’ve a private army on your hands. How nosy are your neighbours? That’ll be the test. Only one way to find out ;) I keep mine in a pile in the closet. They're mostly Mode Fs and Ms. They've survived worse. The Focus boards act as padding. I guess that's the way to go if you wan...

Re: Don't you feel like DT is dying?

I looked at the site traffic over the last few months/year and with the exception of July it has stayed the same over a long period of time, so I guess site traffic isn't an issue. (Funny enough, the people coming from other "social networks" are mostly from Reddit, way surpassing YouTube by like 70...

Re: How do you store your keyboards?

Has anyone ever thought about using pelicases for storage? Curious if that would be overkill (as they are water- and dust resistant).

You could even open them in case you want to display your boards :-D

Re: Don't you feel like DT is dying?

Honest question: how is TikTok different from Vine? You know, besides one coming years earlier and dying a few years ago too; when it was killed by its corporate overlords… Honestly, I guess the main difference is that there is much more shallow content on TikTok that speaks to a slightly different...

Also the hunt for vintage boards is something I find very fitti...

Supposed to be an old Siemens keyboard. Any guess on use-case and switches?
Did you get any more info on this keyboard?

I found a similar looking one, but with some extra keys top right.
