The Apex Pro feels and sounds pretty nice, but yeah, the stabilisers are AIDS. You cannot disassemble the TKL version without damaging it, so you'll never be able to tune the stabilisers.
Sounds like a challenge!

Re: Stuff you just bought

Had a few arrive this week. These are the first two to grace my desk. Love this thing. Functionality is spot on. Key weighting is light enough for me to use it for work all day. That god damn track ball cut out in the space bar though! My space bar discipline has been honed since having a BFK on my ...

Re: Playing games on an Acer 6311 is infurating!

I don't even try to play games on my vintage boards. I mainly play competitive FPS, in the dark; for me, this means small, modern, backlit boards. I couldn't imagine how crippled my left hand would be after an hour on my M122. I did entertain the idea of using such a board to play WoW, with all of t...

Re: What's your list of beige whales?

I don't know that I actually crave any super rare or expensive keyboards. In a sense, the Model M, Model F77, the Cherry G80s and few Alps boards that I have are all I could ask for. At this point, I mostly just like finding and trying new keyboards, not because they are the best , but because they...

Re: First mechanical keyboard questions

Outemu Browns aren't too bad IMO. I haven't experience with that particular board but what I found when I first started with mechanical keyboards is doing the work on them makes all the difference. Lube the switches, grease the wires, dampen the chassis, even add weight to it if there's space intern...

Re: Dust covers, but not the sexy kind...

Indeed. Just for clarity, the acrylic keyboard rooves I've seen are always £20. If I'm going to buy six, seven or eight of them... I'd go down this road if they were £5ish. This made me wonder if there was a material that could be heated to form a plastic cover similar to the Mac101E. I thought ther...

Dust covers, but not the sexy kind...

Not all my keyboards are as perfectly put together as my 2000 Plus. PXL_20210321_205516891.jpg Since my descent into keyboard madness, I seem to able to justify having four or more keyboards out at once; three on my desk and one in my living room ...at a minimum. While having these beautiful beasts ...

Re: Tips to get a mint-as-possible original model F?

There's plenty of Brits on here; a handful particularly active. Certainly quite a few of them are F/bucking spring enthusiasts too so one of would likely be able to help you. However, in my experience on here, in buying an F you should seek help from our continental fellows. There's a few over ther...

Hey Mips! I haven't got an F for you but just wanted to say hi from a fellow U.K. enthusiast 👋 Hi! Good to see, I wonder how many more from the UK are on here? I'll probably be looking for an experienced keyboard guy to restore the AT I eventually pick up so hopefully there's a UK expert on here. T...

HHKB Pro 2 Type-S vs. Hybrid Type-S

So, I've been trying to buy a new Pro 2 Type-S for quite a few weeks now and have been let down by a number of vendors in Japan. Got my BT Hasu and battery ready; got my little HHKB case to carry into the office; and I even have my silencing mat ready to keep it all office-quiet and super thocky! I'...

I too wish to know this. That diamond nav is quirky but actually looks usable. Better than the BFK's.

Re: New Member, Need some advice

Welcome! I'd say Topre too, being a Topre man myself. However, rather than blowing your beans all at once, a Dell Bigfoot is a good, cheap starting point. Black Alps switches are a nice introduction to tactile switches. Plus, they can be linearised, which is a surprisingly good mod. Aside from parti...
