Have you tried just reseating the spring? Not very clear what the problem is other than mention of a couple keys not registering and not "clicking".

Define scratchy? The Matias have a strange something-like-a double bump compared to Alps IME, but I've not found them to be scratchy-; rather than overlubed in fact.

Opening and cleaning the case and keycaps is what I'd recommend in any case. Should be fine.
