If we want to be literal, then Topre is the obvious winner. But of course what we're really talking about is non-capacitive boards. I have three: #1 is the Logitech K350 (the wave keyboard). I don't actually own one, but they have a bunch around the office here. For a crappy mass-market keyboard, I'...

A layout change is not going to be a panacea for virtual keyboards - only real innovations have ever caught on (like T9 and swype).

I've been trying out Windows 8 for about a week. It is significantly less awful than I expected it to be. Metro can go to hell, though.

The case is driven by egoism. The women's lawyer wants to be seen in the media. Assange wants to play the "martyr card" rather than be known as a convicted sex offender.. That's my take on it as well. I can't imagine the Swedes extraditing him - people would throw a shit fit (since it would so obvi...

Yep. The Chinese "authorities" (whether that be government or business) are held in very low esteem here.

No, Americans do not hold any particular animosity towards the Chinese. Like Djuzuh said, we're becoming more afraid of their power (especially since it is rising), but our history is quite free of conflict. And while they are nominally communist, which is something many Americans hate and fear, we ...

Dungeon Keeper is great, and Deus Ex as well, but still one of my favourite games is "Thief: Dark Project". This game is simply awesome, even though the graphics can't keep up with current games, it captures you much more than most modern games. Even though I like some BF3 from time to time. Modern...

I suspect Valve will announce Half Life 2: episode 3, Half Life 3, Portal 3, Team Fortress 3, Left 4 Dead 3, Dota 3, and Day of Defeat 3 all in one day just for fun. On the subject of the topic at hand: Retro, to me, implies games from the 1970 till around 1994. And with very rare exceptions I think...

DejaVu fonts are nice, as are Inconsolata and the Droid fonts. The issues you describe with crappy anti-aliasing on the capital letters seems like it might have another source. I personally use Dina , which is a bitmap font - I don't like anti-aliasing, especially against a black terminal window. Al...

I find it perplexing that they screwed up the scroll wheel so bad, given how otherwise excellent the ergonomics are. I can understand why the switches are laid out that way, though.
