Re: KBC Poker != ikbc Poker

I put one of the images on the iKBC site into Google Translate to find what the Chinese characters before "Poker" meant. 0c087751-2f63-4020-9ce1-e9796b27e5de.jpeg According to that diagram, the successor to the 2015 Poker 3 is called the 2016 "New Poker". That model matches the images at the top of ...

Re: Opinions

I agree. It would only be informative to know if the object of the article is popular or unpopular, and especially: why. If the description quotes some colourful expression of that, then that could only help expressing a point. The paragraph in question is a good example of that, and is not a person...

Re: Curious How Keyboard Profiles & Keyboard Layouts Become Standard and Become Business

There have been many innovative keyboard designs over the years that have been touted as more efficient and/or more ergonomic than what has come before. The problem is that people are in general very conservative. Experienced typists often prefer their existing muscle memory over learning something ...

This is a drawer-type structure that allows the player to finish assembling the liner before the front sequence, and then finally just push the tray into the space capsule and you’re done. Isn’t it very simple and even a bit “novelty”? Maybe I'm too old and tired, but I didn't understand a single w...

A metal part can get powder coated. It gets hooked up to an electric charge and the powder gets attracted to the charge. Then the part gets baked to partially melt the powder so that it fuses together.

Re: Generic-ify a gaming keyboard?

My guess is that the keyboard in question speaks a standards-compliant HID protocol, but one which supports NKRO. And then there are additional virtual devices to support media keys and programmability. I'm not sure that Hasu's USB-to-USB converter actually supports keyboards that are NKRO over USB,...

Re: Holy hell is it difficult to sign up for this site lol

The question is now "What keyboard is TOkyo PREss famous for?:" I can't find the answer to that question. According to Wikipedia, Tokyo Press changed its named to Topre in 1981, but according to the DT Wiki, they started making keyboards first in 1983. So do "Tokyo Press" keyboards even exist? The ...

It does happen sometimes that stores get shipments of a product in advance so that they'll have it available at the launch date, but then start selling it before they are supposed to.
Could that have been the case here?

BTW, there were lots of promises of PBT keycaps in that thread, but many delays. Last update was about a year ago.

There are ways to smoothen 3D prints though. If it is ABS, you could wipe with some acetone. You could use progressively finer sandpaper.
Or you could spend some time with both sandpaper and filler-primer to get a perfect surface that you'd then paint. Although paint wears off sooner or later.

Nice find! F13 to F15 was a custom since the Apple Extended Keyboard, whereon the keys also said PrintScreen/ScrollLock/Pause. The wheels are tilted, so that one touches the surface vertically and the other horizontally. The video shows it quite well. It is like Engelbart's original mechanism, only lower-profile. The problem is that the horizontal wheel resist vertical motion and vice versa, giving the mouse a different cen...

It looks as if the keyboard does not have a controller, so the task would be to make one out of a microcontroller board (such as a Teensy), connecting GPIO pins to the rows and columns.
