Thanks everyone for your kind feedback :) Had a lot of fun building this and even more fun actually using it after all this time. It's obvious a lot to time, effort and enthusiasm went into making this. It is quite a project. Have you thought about infilling the key cap negative legends with some ty...

The SB147. A custom made 2 foot long monster with a complete build log
Obligatory picture first. Had a lot of fun making this bad boy. Customized 100% for myself, everything from the layout to the curve of the keycap profile. Hope you enjoy reading!

Gotcha. Depending on the width of the nozzle it can expand a bit and I forgot to account for that. Assuming you use a nozzle diameter of .4mm, the XY delta between exact measurements and actual results can differ by about 75-ish% of the nozzle width. This new file has the crosses at a width of 1.27m...

Ideal makes logical sense, but wasn't this the idea behind ortholinear boards? Like, making everything accessible to any finger within at least 2 units? Yup, but I'm confining myself here to the regular (staggered, non-split) keyboards. There are, after all, much more of those than there are orthol...

Ideal makes logical sense, but wasn't this the idea behind ortholinear boards? Like, making everything accessible to any finger within at least 2 units? Personally this isn't my cup of tea from a subjective standpoint, as I use linux and spam the piss out of the tab key, not to mention being a left ...

Main boards are in front of their respective computers, or at work. Rest of my scrap/parts boards are well taken care of, on the floor to the left of my workbench/dinner table. Still need to find out about this one weird fujitsu leaf spring board I have, along with finding a use for two wyse's.... t...

I'm also guessing "voiceless" is a bizarrely random mistranslation of "wireless". I have no mouth and I must scream? :D Really though the design on that looks like the lava filter in gimp. Like, spot on. It wouldn't be such a bad keyboard if you just replaced the keycaps, front plate, and case... a...

This layout is created with maximum logic in mind, and high productivity will result from it. I guarantee it. -The lock keys are grouped together for convenience, because that makes sense Grouping lock keys together? We agree. The chosen place? Not so much... think of the monstrosity that an ISO Sc...

Very, very cool! The material we like the best of all is PBT. I know next to nothing about 3D printing, though, so I don't know if there's something fundamentally incompatible with the stuff. The fact it's highly resistant to wear (and shining) perhaps suggests it could be a total pain in the jacks...

Actually I'm a systems administrator for a living, and this is more of a hobby but thank you! Been doing 3d work on the side for a while now. I'm using PLA for this, nothing fancy. I steered away from ABS, nylon, and PETG due to how damn touchy they are in terms of temperature requirements and layer...

The caps were designed from scratch with three things in mind: 1. Simplicity (as far as the amount of polygons go) 2. Strength (mostly just the middle stem) 3. Needed to be able to print upside down for a flat surface The lower polygon count was mostly a thing for myself to facilitate ease of use wh...

Custom designed and printed 60% keyboard with a detailed build log
So, I'm finally delurking and using this account again after 6 years. I've made a couple of custom keyboards recently and wanted to start sharing my work with people who might enjoy reading about the build process. The finished product is here: https://i.imgur.com/CT74cON.jpg The full build log is h...

Very nice! That USB extension fits tidily between the existing posts, I see! Strictly speaking, you should ground the metal plate, but it's not anything like as vital on an M as it is on an F :) Hello again Soarer! Gotcha. Just popped in again to tell you everything is working all nice and smooth. The original ideas for remapping most of those other keys was because I thought my control key didn't work... thankfully it was just a matter of cleaning out the housing and it's working nicely now. Thank you again f...

Hey Soarer. Just wanted to thank you for your awesome work. I finally got my baby to work on my new computers. :D Just a few questions about key remapping. How would I match up the codes for scan set 3 ( http://www.seasip.info/VintagePC/ibm_1390876.html ) to your codes listed in the 'codes' section ...
