Re: Longterm Daily Drivers

Ah, the Roland A-88 . Knew I recognised it from somewhere. It was on my radar when I was buying my piano in 2016. I was hovering over getting its smaller brother an RD-64 until the local store (Red Dog Music, RIP) cut me a deal on the fancier FP-30 which I’ve been banging away at ever since! The key...

Re: IBM model f foam template

I could use an AT and original Kishsaver. Neither needs it yet but y’know.

Do Beamsprings need similar cutting? If so, 3276 me up.

If volume helps, we could hoard spares I suppose. Really depends on pricing and shelf life.

Re: Longterm Daily Drivers

Thing is, you have indeed got that wealth of mods just one row below with these keyboards. The HHKB *really* needs that Fn key because there's bugger all underneath! But the 4704s all share other options. I make do with the bottom right corner key as my Fn just nicely on my Kishy. https://deskthorit...

PM'd. I did actually show off my Kish from the car's boot in Glesga once before. Couple of years ago, to Phinix who's a fellow denizen of yours. He knew I'd drive him down if he tried to run off with it. An OG Kishsaver is the board you'd do that for. It would come out of the collision better than h...

Re: Longterm Daily Drivers

Then again that wouldn't have made the HHKB people (that surely exist) happy. And three layouts probably wouldn't have been feasible. We exist. :D I think I was the one who led the split Shift crusade when Ellipse was seeking suggestions in the first place. I get your point about a different split....

ISO is indeed playing on hard mode.

Something tells me you'd like this clicky ISO UK fullsize beastie. I must say black space invaders are still among my very favourites, even with all my IBMs.

Re: Karabiner

Okay, no amount of fiddling with to_if_held_down_threshold fixed those lazy keys. So I'm trying something different. How about a mousing mode, toggled by double tapping right Shift? That key's on all my keyboards, and I kinda sorta know how to do double taps and layers now. So let's mix them both! W...

Re: Longterm Daily Drivers

Right: a bit of both. I getcha! What I'm trying to achieve is a host side modification (in Karabiner) which gives all my keyboards the same functions with the same keys . So I can't rely on Scroll Lock existing, and I'm heavily into using Caps Lock as Control (the only choice on my HHKB) so can't sp...

Realforce does ISO as well JIS layouts. https://www.keyboardco.com/keyboard/uk-topre-realforce-88u-45g-white-keyboard.asp I know, but I already found the Keyboard Co. product pages for them and they list them all as "discontinued", sadly. Re: Longterm Daily Drivers

I've always loved the look of those Nord keyboards, but I've never gotten one. Same. They're pricey. All the twiddly stuff on board is very nicely implemented, though. But I prioritised buying a nice full weighted Roland keyboard *and* Logic over spending more for an entry level Nord with way less ...

I've honestly no idea how expensive it would be now to ship a sizeable keyboard out of Brexitania. I don't suppose you still happen to have this, do you...? I think it’s a game theory study. They want to see how little incentive is required to make us hire assassins to take one another out.

So far: $0 is looking pretty good.

Re: Macro Pad Recommendations?

My tip for macros is Soarer's Controller : his overlooked sister project to his much better known converter. I've used it a fair bit over the years, and naturally included it in my 64 bit tools rebuild. Macros were always his strong point. Love the way he let you define the matrix right in the .sc f...

You could make a hell of a multi-keyboard programmable converter with all of those sockets! Something I've been hankering after for years is a multi-function converter box I could mount under my desk. One USB port to computer, and one of each of AT, PS/2, ADB and NeXT sockets on it for simply pluggi...
