I worked for a software house between 1992 and 1993 and they ported their 4GL to any and every Unix machine where a license was bought. The guy who sat behind me had a HP Unix workstation with one of these style keyboards and I remember back in the day how much it sucked. I was on the VAX/VMS portin...

I use rollermouse at work all the time - no more issues with wrists.
I have a red in pretty much unused conditions (my classic is the only one that works with my work computer which is a SunRay) for sale - I'll upload to the sale section shortly, if anyone is interested.

For Linux you can do this via a powered adapter that converts the connections to an RS/232 connector - there is a Linux kernel driver that supports this: http://wickensonline.co.uk/app/index.html#/linuxlk For Windows AFAIK you are currently out of luck, although I keep meaning to come up with a solu...

Fiat 500? If you are Italy presumably you won't be paying a premium for one.
We had one for two years and it was reliable, cheap to run. We've now moved on to a 500X and that is great too.

Extra flexible Micro USB cable

Does anyone have an suggestions for an extra flexible micro usb cable I can use to connect a keyboard?
I want a cable that will lay flat on the desktop, preferably no longer than 1 metre.

Thanks, Mark.

It's such a shame the keys on these things just feel so crap. I used the one I'm selling for a bit but just couldn't quite get over that crap key feeling - that's coming from someone who uses DEC keyboards a lot too!

Oh Oracle I'm in such a dilema. I think I might be looking for the holy grail http://www.montypython.com/uploads/General_FOLDER_godbepraised.jpg TBH I think I need to compromise. I'd like a wireless keyboard that is backlit with a reliable connection. Even better than that dear: it would have a stan...

I have a manual for this keyboard somewhere - I will scan it when I find it!

In the meantime I found this image on an eBay post:

Trying to figure out dip switch settings, any chance you have the manual for the keyboard? Wow, this topic has been quiet for a while. You know what I think I do have a manual for it. Of course the more difficult question to answer is 'where is it'? Let me have a think... if I have it I'll scan it ...

I'll give it a clean yes - I have to say that it looks a lot worse in the pictures than it is in reality.
I'll have to manually wire a few pads up but most have survived intact.

I love your colourful terminology however!

There are two main variants of APL in general purpose use at the moment: IBM APL/2 and Dyalog APL. They have a different key layout. Given that the Dyalog variant has an education programme, non-commercial licenses and provide a free version for the Raspberry Pi I'd very heavily slant towards that l...

I'd like APL characters this time round, pretty please! The APL union layout would be in keeping with a retro feel and would be eminently usable by me for real APL programming, not just looking pretty! http://www.wickensonline.co.uk/apl/union.png Or the VAX/VMS APL layout http://lakesdev.blogspot.co...

Repairing the Surprise Box Broken JD40

OK, so when I received the surprise box I happened across a broken JD40 - there was a helpful note on the bottom explaining that the teensy didn't work and that the space bar stabilizer had not been installed before the switches were soldered to the PCB and therefore could not be installed without u...
