Re: Post your desktop.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/2djo2gnp1mfye2l/IMG_20200430_192815.jpg This shot exists just in case you're wondering where the computer is. When I was much younger I had a penchant for removing labels off of things and the floppy disk on display kinda shows that. This shot from 2012 shows the...

Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

Seems the new range excluded the European channels, the Pro2 is still readily available here. Maybe they're taking my advice and preparing an ISO derivative? Who knows.

Re: BOX switches STILL cracking keycaps!

Kailh, I am very disappointed. I defended you... What is the point of this trend of consumers feeling the need to 'defend' a company's problem, ostensibly out of goodwill? Is it for a sense of entitlement? If it's a culture that said companies encourage (e.g using marketing that makes consumers fee...

Re: Please help me choose a keyboard after my unicomp model m

Visitors to their HQ? Their website doesn’t mention a storefront but does give their address as: Unit 8 Canal Ironworks, Hope Mills, London Road Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL5 2SH England Looking that up shows a little industrial estate. Exactly what you’d think from a specialist mail order business,...

Topre Realforce remains my suggestion. They aren’t available to demo in any stores outside Japan,..
The Keyboard Company in the UK lets visitors try them.

Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

As for your point, I can’t say I understand what that’s about, as my use of Unix is always mediated by Apple. Perhaps legacy from Prof. Wada’s original concept and implementation? Beats me. The HHKB I love is all about that navigation Fn layer! My understanding is that Dr. Waka was disgruntled abou...

Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

Disregarding local layouts for a moment, if PFU plans on reworking the firmware of the Pro line, I hope they intend to sort out the mess of keycode configurations that determine the different modes. Only three keys on the current keyboard can currently adopt multiple keycodes between modes - Delete/...

Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

I already want that µ key! It's just standard German convention for showing the Alt Gr-layer, like the € on E and @ on Q. You could swap those from a German-language Realforce ... Anyway... The right way to do ISO HHKB is to split the space bar. :evilgeek: I think the standards bodies try to mainta...

Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

The German layout is one of the most stringent of those in the Latin ISO family, with its requirements for symbols on some keys and the use of translated functions. Below is my attempt to adapt these to the HHKB. One of the HHKB-specific functions I translated to 'Halt' but I was not confident enoug...

Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

I reckon an ISO HHKB (seen here in UK layout) would look like this:

The shortened Backspace is of course, borrowed from the JP version.

Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

I can imagine an ISO HHKB, but it wouldn't be that. Think of the ANSI version, and squeeze the Backspace key up top like they did on the JP. You're still a key short though, aren't you? That key specifically being the pipe key which, in the ISO layout, is moved to the left of Z (with a slimmer left...

Re: HHKB refresh in 2019?

An ISO version (or ANSI keysets for various localisations) would be nice.

Here's my 'Glow Company' mouse pad with my crappy Microsoft mouse sitting on it. I don't use it so much for traction than just a nice surface for my wrist to sit on.
