Short Travel Cherry M8?
I bought a spare board for an Epson PX-8 that is supposed to have tactile Cherry (Hirose?) M8. As far as i can tell, it does (the tactile bump is not very pronounced tho... feels almost like something between linear ant tactile to me). On the top row there are some special function keys with what se...

[WTB] IBM Model F122 (even in bad condition)
Hello, i am searching for a F122, pereferable in bad "beyond repair" condition (and because of that for a nice price   ). Missing and broken parts do not not matter much, as long as the inner metal parts are intact. Having as many flippers and barrels and keycaps as possible would be nic...

Re: IBM 3178 C2 1984
Nice! I haven't seen one with a gold badge. Quite some search led me to the conclusion that there is no golden badge. It is protective foil over a silver badge that changed color over the time. I was fooled by that, too, recently with a model f case i but was able to remove the foil in the end (it ...

Re:
Here's my question: what was the goal of making yellow MX switches? What did anyone hope to achieve? Maybe getting rid of excess yellow plastic pellets in the storage that would go to waste else maybe... or a wrong order/shipment of a charge of pellets. (As they all have sligthly different yellow c...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
As I recall that's a board with Micro Switch rubber dome (ST) switches. Could be wrong though. Hmm... rubber dome... i will pass then, 170 is too much to gamble and the seller refuses to give more info or more photos without keycap (maybe he knows why ^^), thx (still like the look of the board tho)

Re: Great/Interesting Finds
If you want to have a German keyboard layout, keep an eye on this bidding, according to the wiki database it should have Blue Alps. https://www.ebay.de/itm/RETRO-Tastatur/382966969710 It 's completely yellowed, so I wouldn't go crazy on the bidding. NOOO, was watching this auction from the first fe...

Re: Beamspring Factory process - How to
I printed a blank test keycap with my FDM* printer (0.2 mm nozzle). It took around 3 hours. WIth some post processing the key is very smooth and shiny and it fits perfectly on the beamspring switch. Funny what you said about the 3d pen, i had the same idea^^ (i do not own one tho). Printing MX switc...

Foot For the switch plate foot, black carbon 3d printed plastic seems to work somewhat. It is obviously capacitive. It doesn't matter what you make the barrel assembly out of. I will be uploading some OBJ/STL files later tonight. The main consideration for this part is whether or not it should have...

Re: Fixing the $10 Industrial M13
Nice project, it looks like a lot of fun (i do not mean it ironic). Did you ever hear of "Kintsugi" : Kintsugi (金継ぎ, "golden joinery"), also known as Kintsukuroi (金繕い, "golden repair"), is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platin...

Very cool project! (thx for making this thread :) ) "The beamspring itself is reasonably easy to make with a press as it is just a shape with a hole in the middle. I am currently trying to perfect my punch press in order to make larger quantities of new springs." Especially this sounds great. :) (co...

Re: 60%/65%/TKL Beamspring "Thousand MonKeys"
Yes, they are. As the original return key has a different shape, too (concave instead of convex) it is no big deal i think (the bottom row with just enough room left to not fit another key is more annoying^^)

Re: 60%/65%/TKL Beamspring "Thousand MonKeys"
It is from my german "IBM 196C" ("Selectric II" in English-speaking areas i think) and compatible with beamspring switches.
I need get replacement somehow tho, as the typewriter is almost mint condition inc. cover and has all extras etc. ... too nice to be torn apart for keycaps^^.
