I have now received the correct bearing and put them into the trackball and it works!
Thank you for the help in sorting this out.

Re: CH Products RollerMouse poor tracking
in what I think is the correct size (4x9x4mm). Millimeters aren't suitable units here. DT225 uses Imperial-standard R2 bearings (1/8" x 3/8" x 5/32" dimensions). Oh dear. Well, the seller I bought from has that exact size as well so I will just order a set of those instead. Thanks for the info!

Re: CH Products RollerMouse poor tracking
I managed to get the shafts out and remove the bearings, but instead of trying to clean them I went ahead and ordered some new ones in what I think is the correct size (4x9x4mm). We'll see if they work otherwise I will look into opening and cleaning the original ones.

Re: CH Products RollerMouse poor tracking
When you're spinning the rod by hand, do you feel any mechanical resistance ? Can it spin freely with a nice initial impulse or does it stop quickly ? Flicking the plastic wheel at the end, I can get them to rotate maybe one revolution on their own at most. I am guessing they should be a bit more f...

Re: CH Products RollerMouse poor tracking
That's interesting! On DT225 the ball indeed drive steel shafts directly, while on RollerMouse there's a kind of plastic rollers surrounding them. Is there any possibility that your device is a Frankenstein made by previous owner by mixing DT225 and RM parts? Posting a picture(s) of internals will ...

Re: CH Products DT225 poor tracking
The reason I'm asking is, they use completely different mechanics. The symptoms you're describing, if referred to the Trackball Pro (aka DT225), mean ball bearings have dried out and/or contaminated grease, and needs replacement or disassembling & re-lubrication. In case of RollerMouse, there's no ...

Re: CH Products DT225 poor tracking
To start with, DT225 and RollerMouse are two totally different (but visually similar) trackballs. Which one you're actually referring to? Okay, I was just assuming they are the same thing since to me they look the same and are made by the same company. Comparing these: DT225 RollerMouse Also Roller...

CH Products RollerMouse poor tracking
I have a vintage CH Products DT225 (branded Rollermouse) trackball that I recently tried to start using, only to find that it the ball is having a hard time moving the rollers inside. Right-left works pretty well, but up and down require quite a lot of pressure on the ball to work and it is not cons...

I love the look of that keyboard, sort of like an IBM 122 but still its own thing.

Re: Working PS/2-USB converter for CH Products Rollermouse?
I had purchased what was advertised as an active adapter, looking like this. However either this particular one is broken or the product itself is no good, because when I plug it into my PC, Windows 10 says that it's a broken USB device and does not want to enable it. I have confirmed that the track...

Working PS/2-USB converter for CH Products Rollermouse?
I recently purchased a CH Products Rollermouse off of Ebay. This is the PS/2 version and the converter I had does not seem to work with it. Can anyone recommend me a converter that is known to work with this particular trackball?

New Unicomp for work, so I can give my IBM Model M that I've been using for a few years some rest.
103 key configuration with some custom keycaps and a slightly modified layout.

Re: New find: Facit A3400 Keyboard
After sitting in storage for a couple of years, the terminal is now at my office and is fully working after swapping out a leaking capacitor in the power supply. Here is it connected to a Cisco ASA5505: https://i.imgur.com/DqzgWYf.jpg?1 I would hazard a guess that this is the only Facit A3400 termin...

New Unicomp Classic 103 with slight mods
Got this in the mail today from Unicomp, I had ordered some extra stuff to customize the appearance of the keyboard slightly: http://i.imgur.com/2yCwEoP.jpg?1 Blank keycaps for the Windows and menu keys, a Ctrl key to replace the Caps Lock, and a blank LED overlay. I have made two pinholes in the ov...

This looks really cool! Thanks for informing me about Briel Computers, I had not heard about that company before. Examples of Fentek custom buckling spring keycap printing?
Hello, I am wondering if anyone has ordered custom printed buckling spring keycaps from Fentek and what the ordering process and results were like? Do the colors match what Unicomp ships with their keyboards?
Pictures would be great.
