Those extra lines in the "D" were added by the company that made the stickers, yeah. They were not on my original templates that I sent to them. I'm assuming that they did it because we did not meet the limitations of their machinery. Unfortunately all of the documentation is in Korean, so I didn't ...

Samples are good. Apparently when Forward removed the branding from Alps switches, they left the logo off the top permanently (possibly to help Strong Man brand them as "Strong Man switches"), but changed the logo on the bottom to read "FD". I only have a photo from someone in Japan showing it — I ...

Copyright is not an indicator of built date though. I mean you can find 1977 Copyrights on most BASIC chips which were still used in 80s technology. A better indicator would be to check actual manufacture dates on the IC or other ICs.

I think I know this one... but I have no idea who made it or anything. Someone posted one of those either here or on GH but I can't find it. I don't remember it had any branding or even a label on the bottom, nothing on PCB. Pretty sure it was some Asian made in the mid-late 80's. It had switch lik...

I was gonna say the Tab key having an ISO legend seems odd to be a G81/G80-1000HAU...

It might be some Taiwanese clone. It also looks like there is a ferrite core on this cable?

Edit: yes this has to be a clone of a G80-1000. Look at the right shift key. The legend seems centered.

I would guess the Apple ones are made by the same OEM that made the old Cherry MX WYSE generation 1 keycaps. Spruce marks and especially the corners seem similar:

Lost relics from press releases

Yesterday I was researching some keyboard stuff to win an argument and I stumbled upon some old German press releases. So I did some more searching in ancient news and I found quite a few interesting Cherry gems: Tastatur mit Funkuhr von Cherry 03.05.1996 AUERBACH (pi) - Eine Tastatur mit integriert...

WYSE Terminal Boards

How this works There are a total of 9 units available in heavily varying conditions. They are split into tiers below. You can enter each tier, but you can only win in one tier. That means if you enter in the first and second tier, and win in the first tier drawing, you will receive the better condi...

Cherry Blaupunkt BTX

Some stuff I was too lazy to document before my disappearance :) Dark-brown/coffee color on cream/beige. All the date codes on the dips are late 1983 and early 1984. I assume the board was assembled in 1984. Probably one of the very first to use MX switches. They actually feel kinda different from n...

It indeed would be easier with some pictures for identification of the keyboard. As Muirium said, oftentimes third parties involved (in this case Ferranti) slap on their own part numbers to re-badged keyboards, so getting more information on it might be hard without knowing the common Cherry part nu...
