if you're not stuck on getting a dslr, i've been reading into the Sony NEX line quite a bit, and i'm currently torn between a 5N and an F3. There's limited glass options for them right now, but Sony is committed to bringing more out for the E mount, and there's going to be a few 3rd part options lat...

anyone who has half a brain knows this isn't a money making endevor, and iMav made it more than clear he was loosing money on geekhack long before it went down. that's why i started up the donation thread. After all that nonsense, the site goes down and you guys do nothing to get in contact with us;...

Between the lower production numbers, the higher quality control, and PBT/Dyesub process... it's a premium product at a premium price. That being said... I doubt that it's actually physically worth a penny more than $200, but there's enough people between us and RealForce that need to pay bills, and...

Just FYI, part of the reason we are being silent is because we are still dealing with attacks. Between that, hardware changes, and schedule constraints (day jobs), progress has been a little slow. Some work has been done in parallel at other sites, in the meantime. No offence... but that's complete...

See, now Silat can take some lessons from Harrison on how to effectively get a point across without sounding like a whinebox. Constructive analysis of the situation. From my perspective, I imagine the people putting this back together have full-time jobs and families and other responsibilities that...

I appreciate that GeekHack no longer looks like it gotten caught on the side of road with it's pants around it's ankles... I personally think it's been somewhat inexcusable that no outward communication has taken place to the user base outside of this forum though. And just about 2 weeks late. Agree...

My new favorite, Roboto http://developer.android.com/design/media/typography_main.png http://developer.android.com/design/style/typography.html Google took a LOT of flak from the font community regarding Roboto. I like the look of it as well, but the opinions about it out there are pretty aggressive.

I like Consolas, too notice the italic variant is not simply a skewed regular Now compare the 'i' in those lines... imho way too straight. i agree, actually... the italic i is too straight in Consolas, but otherwise, i like it quite a bit and use it more or less across the board. Anything to get ri...

I hadn't been following the thread here, but rather the one on GH. I'm not sure if there had been any discussion on the teensy in this thread or another one on DT, but will there be any i/o pins unused? I'd like to hook up a pot and setup a volume controller, but I can't recall if there's going to ...

Don't see entitlement and elitism myself. Webwit put together a temp area so people could stay in touch while the other site is down. But rather than taking a little time to climatise and fit into the surroundings and the people, it's been a case of geekhack with a different URL. Most won't get the...

in my experience dealing with forum clashes like this in the past, there's usually two issues going on, and they're absolutely going on now and here: entitlement and elitism. many of the GH users feel entitled to a home. the DT crowed has always come off with an elitist attitude (not that there's an...

Gotta say, that minimalistic theme looks like a very unpolished version of DT; and not what I'd call minimalistic personally. i don't disagree... i think we need to make sure there's a visual independence from DT, since the forum layout and design here is quite unique. while i like a clean minimali...

I'm pretty sure the Info bars are customization by the user, and it's just up to you what is displayed in them by default. I agree though... it's a lot of space, but I'd personally collapse them (which is one of my favorite features of those themes, and why I prefer to start with an existing one) so...

My friend helped me draft up a simple color scheme based on the theme used by deskthority. I like the black/orange of geekhack but always thought that the orange was a bit overwhelming. Batcat is not included, I just thought it was cute since it's black/orange too lol. http://i.imgur.com/GNu0J.png ...

o-rings under heatshrink? i like the idea! If that is all there is to this version, I don't see how it could hold a cable VERY well at all..
