Das Keyboard Model S boards are pretty rock solid and can be found for a song on ebay if you're willing to be patient. The normal price might be out of your range though.

Re: Decent Keyboard available from Industry Suppliers (in DE

I think the bigger problem is that none of them are likely to be available from approved suppliers. I'm going to ask for a list today and have a nose around. I'm lucky enough to work somewhere where the bean counters do not reign supreme. An alternative might be something easily unpluggable that I c...

Re: Decent Keyboard available from Industry Suppliers (in DE

I think he was shocked when I said the keyboards I had ran me to about 120 Euros. Might be worth a try though :-P

I'll have to go back to my Mr Interface switch collection and try the clears. I am also underwhelmed by Browns.

Decent Keyboard available from Industry Suppliers (in DE)

I just started a new job and was told that I could order a keyboard for work as membrane keyboards tend to give me sore hands. At home I use a Das Keyboard. I was wondering if anyone knew of any decent models that are likely to be available from the suppliers that are used by big companies. Preferab...

I was just thinking, the case design might present a chance for some cool DT keyrings or something. Maybe even a stand to raise the back of the keyboard? Unless there are plans for the cut out material already.

Re: Filco Tenkeypad Mod

Also, it looks like that plate has to slide down before it will come out. Did you try heating and sliding down so the tab fills the slot?

Re: Filco Tenkeypad Mod

The plate is probably just sucking all the heat away. You might try an iron with wattage or perhaps a smd hot air gun if you can find one. A normal hot air gun might do more harm than good though. Persevering with more wick might work. If not there are special solders that alloy with existing stuff ...

I thought the buttons on the Xbox 360 pad were analogue?

Oh, the original Xbox had analogue buttons. Strange. Nice mod :-)

Oh Mighty Oracle, In my quest to achieve enlightenment I have been led to the mighty altar of APL. The ancient writings on the walls of this temple are difficult to decrypt and harder to reproduce with my mortal input device. Where should I go in search of a tool worthy of A Programming Language? I ...

Re: Split ergonomic keyboard project.

The accumulated shipping could get expensive for all those parts. Will there be any chance of someone bundling parts before shipping?

Getting Teensies in Europe

I am looking for a source of teensies in the EU.

I don't want to have to deal with German customs since the office is miles away and it always takes half a day to go there.

Anyone have any ideas? Has there ever been a group buy?

I have some Apple Extended II keyboards that I lovingly cleaned. Some have uneven yellowing due to the keyprotectors that were on them. They are all ADB but if there is interest I could convert them to USB... I am considering using them for parts. Are they worth anything to anyone? I also have one G...

Is the whole thing charlieplexed? Looks like the plug for the second board is just a headphone jack. Are you using 1 Wire and a 3 pin jack or i2c and a 4 pin jack?

I definitely want one!

Quickly thinking about it you might not even need that jumper. If you use the USB for power, any LEDs could just be installed backwards if needs be.

I completely understand the position of not wanting to change too much now. Perhaps for v2? The idea of PS2 is also intriguing.

dox, this is looking really nice! Did you consider using one double sided board layout and simply flipping the board over for each side? Depending on volume you could make a significant saving on the manufacturing costs of the boards that way. I am not sure which CAD tool you are using but it should...

What was the name of that keyboard?

The one that took all the preorders and then missed deadline after deadline. I can't remember the name for the life of me. They had a whole fancy website set up and everyone kept fighting over whether it would ever materialise or not.

Guessing it didn't?
