I use an adb to usb converter with Hasu's firmware and remapped the Caps Lock with LCtrl in the firmware. I removed the white locking latch in the switch so that the locking mechanism is disabled. Ctrl works perfectly (on Windows, Linux and Mac OS) without having to butcher the PCB nor having to use...

In my opinion, the dampened cream ALPS on an AEKII feel horrible. I removed the dampers and modded the click leaf, to make it a clicky switch. It is much better (to me).

In terms of pure numbers, the Apple Extended II has a fair old following as well. It must have sold a few million during the years it (and the first one) were available, bundled with new Macs. You could be right: the more people that owned them new, the more the reputation today. Stock, I do not li...

Nice haul! I'm guessing you're in the US to be able to snag an F-122 so quickly. This hobby's so much easier over there! Regardless, the M still is an excellent board and sounds good (better than the remaining clicky boards out there). Better than MX: sure. Hands down. But there are some other fine...

I have 2 Model F XT's, and have had a couple M's (101 key) in the past. As the posters mentioned above, the F is much louder, the keystroke is much crisper, sharper, and more staccato like in sound. The M still sounds and feels pretty good, but after using the Model F, the M feels a little cheap, so...

It's like that girl on the Trayvon Martin case who couldn't read cursive. I don't use a pen/pencil as much as a keyboard. I use it primarily to sign documents and jot a few notes. Using a keyboard is much more efficient. I have some very nice pens and pencils given to me as gifts over the years, but...

I use an M705 Marathon Mouse. Logitech advertises it as lasting 3 yrs on a single set of batteries. I'm at a year and a half on the initial battery. So far, it's been a good mouse. I prefer a previous MX600, as it had more buttons.

Mr. Interface has a great tutorial on youtube. All the soldering he did was tinning the wires. He plugged the tinned wires into a solderless breadboard. Rather than a converter box, he put electrical tape around the hold apparatus. Kind of ghetto, but it looked pretty easy. I'm in the process of doi...

This IBM Model M 1390120 was built on 1986-04-26 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_disaster .
