Re: My new project

This is such a nice project and it looks helpful for self taught tech people / software devs, since big procent of them learn boot-camp style and do not concentrate as much as they should on algorithms and data structures (me included) (Not that last 15 years wasn't just using libraries glued from o...

Re: Stuff you just bought

Just got a Cherry NCR G80-0528HAD for the equivalent of 10Eur. It is yellowed, most of the keycaps are shiny, clearly has been smoked around (it actually has a light smell), but it is unexpectedly clean (not really that much dirt or dust in it). https://i.imgur.com/Q7tGv2H.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Ab...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

That's an interesting combination of legends. It has some ASCII-bit-paired caps (e.g. ‘;’/‘+’ and ‘:’/‘*’) but also non-ASCII characters (‘¬’) and a Hollerith card combo (10-8-2, which had various interpretations, typically ‘±’ or ‘\’ or ‘⏨’). Shifted-6 would have been useful information (e.g. ‘&’ ...

Re: Custom Case for Zenith ZKB-7 aka Eazy PC

I have one of these beautiful Zenith Eazy PC keyboards too, also with the case broken by the postal service around the cable cutout (in a very similar fashion to yours). I did not have the heart to break it down for the switches, so I glued the case back (all the case pieces were in the package). I ...

You are on the right path. From my experience, the best cleaning product for glue, grease, grime, solder flux, is Isopropyl alcohol. Also it does not affect the plastic. I you recommend to first try it in a small patch to see if it has undesired effects. Regarding the rust, there are a lot of diy me...

Chyros's Holy Panda switches review

GlYQOHtVuy4 @Chyros thank you for this review. Logitech MX-Keys could be what you search for (it also has backlight). Membrane, but it seems that it is a good one ( here's a video review for it ). Logitech also have a palm rest for it, but at 19Eur, I think it is expensive for what it is. If you want a no-bulshit mechanical keyboard (sadly with...

Re: I want an RGB mechanical Keyboard but dislike the 'gaming aesthetic' most seem to come with. Any Suggestions?

There used to be the Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro L RGB and Pro S RGB (tkl). They are not in production anymore, but you might find some old-stock, or second hand. You also have the Das Keyboard 4Q You can also get a Realforce RGB, if you want to splurge on Topre. For 60%, there is the poker 3 RGB, ...

how comfortable are you with building one? Here is a nice read regarding building macropads using an Arduino (I think a ProMicro is also ok) to get you started

Or, you could try to find this ISO Enter Macropad (uses QMK) on r/mechmarket or GH classifieds or DT Marketplace

Re: Best Way to Pull Off Keycaps Without a Puller?

First of all, for ALPS keycaps you have to be extra careful. Here is a guide with images . I know, the guide shows a wire puller being used, but, if you can find some stiff and thin enough electrical wire (that you can fit between the keycaps), you can create a loop and then spin it to look like and...
