Re: PoorMansMech

Another fact about typewriters : the hammer jam problem caused the QWERTY layout we use today. The most used letters were evenly spread out over the typewriter so the typist would slow down his typing speed. The weaker fingers were using the more frequent letters.

Using the simulator you immediately understand how frustrating...

Hi! It's been a looooong time since I've been active in the keyboard scene. One of my new year's resolutions was to change that and finish the biggest project I started but never got to finish. Due to various circumstances, I had to let go of my love for computer interfaces , but like all true loves...

That's actually a very nice way to show other people what those projects did given the right community. I won't be able to physically help you with the re-publica project, since the distance is just too big, but I ( we ) could forge some kind of video where everything is being explained and condense...

The only way you can enter an already started list is by having someone vouch for you. This someone should not be new to the forum. ( I decide based on gut feeling )
So have someone PM me as your 'voucher' and I'll put you on the list.

I'll try filing some adapters for the optimum MX mount fit. I need to get callipers, though. Any recommendations? Thanx for all the feedback Beta-testers! @scottc : I also think that in order to use these adapters, you'd need to outfit a whole keyboard due to the height increase of the cap. @Murium : I noticed the very tight fit already when I tried them myself. I think the tolerances inside an MX cap differ fr...

I sent 120 cherry to alps and 120 alps to cherry adapters to Scottc and Muirum ( so each one bag )

I suggest you try the adapters for a couple of weeks and then exchange them amongst the two of you. After that you can send them back to me.

Really looking forward to your test results/feedback!
