Here's my resurrected 75-key 3278 beamspring. The inside of the top case is marked with the date 10-10-79. All of the switches were disassembled for cleaning and derusting of the switch stems (vinegar bath). The switch plate and bottom switch-housing plate were also derusted. I was originally planni...

Here are the patch and hex files. The firmware with debounce threshold 11 will have higher input latency but lower probability of ghosting compared to the firmware with debounce threshold 6.

I get error at line 138 (where matrix begins) when I put joc's config into scaswr.bat What went wrong? scaswr.bat doesn't need to be changed - if you don't have a backup of the original scaswr.bat, you can find it in this zip file (in the *win32.zip file under the tools directory). Joc your layout can be done. I need to figure out tooling costs. Are you willing to get $500 to $1,000 together for extra tooling? That would be a one time amount - the keyboards would cost the same other than the tooling. I'd prefer the proposed layout if there's enough interest to get the tooling...

Hmm, now I think the APL Model M that just sold did have IBM original keycaps. The Unicomp APL font is slightly different (compare the size, shape, and position of the alpha symbol): http://i.imgur.com/9xhhN8b.jpg Source: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=61878.msg1741102#msg1741102 So I guess IB...

I noticed that the older APL sets have a slightly different font or at least the alpha symbol is flatter. Also, the one on clickykeyboards.com doesn't have bumps on the f and j keys. Although this might be the set Unicomp set out to reproduce, including using the same font. http://www.clickykeyboard...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/231734858065 I'm not sure if these are original IBM APL keycaps or Unicomp reproductions. The font weight of the F8-key is thicker that the rest of the function keys so that might be a clue that they're Unicomps. Edit: Here are the picture from the auction: apl_model_m_1.jpg ...

Awesome. Thanks joc! So now we finally know the pre beam spring IBM keyboard mechanism - probably also used on the 1130 and 2250. It may not be. Note the "converted" text. IBM could be right confusing with this stuff! Anyone ever seen an M122 with a metal connector on the cable? That's a classic sign. Metal bottom being the best one. Hmm, I noticed the "converted" text. The "Product of CEL TECH" text is also interesting. The ...

Soarer posted some snippets of his debounce implementation here and here that provide some insights into what the debounce setting actually does. IBM 3290-1 Keypad (Part Number 6018100 and 6018109)
Here are some photos of an IBM 3290-1 keypad (possibly Model F?). The keyboard being used in the first photo looks like an F122 at first glance but when you look closer you'll see that it's actually an F104 (unsaver) and separate keypad. Here's the IBM announcement that mentions the keypad: http://w...
