Dox, just curious since you've had your prototype going for a while, how is the Shapeways printed case doing? The shapeways cases are holding fine! I use them everyday and couldn't be happier. I'm done here. There is a lot of things that I want to do and arguing on the internet won't get me anywher...

I'm getting sick of all the whining about massdrop and such by people that never offered to help the project/distribution or organize the group buy themselves.

Webwit, I know you want this to succeed and I'm sure that you would have organized the group buy like me if I could have done it myself. But the case of this project is pretty much closed. If any member want to organize a second run group buy (we've seen this before), he will be more than welcome to...

So if shipping to the US is free and shipping to the world is not, this means it's a US-centered service where people from Europe subsidize free US shipping? Webwit, they are based in the US, so naturally it costs more to ship elsewhere. Frankly, when the project started back in 2011, the estimated...

I've been quite busy lately but I can see that a lot of people want to get the group buy going.
I won't have time to run it personally but someone else can do it.
I don't really care if it's done with massdrop or a group buy. From what I've read in the last few posts, massdrop looks like a good idea.

My new keyboard tray

My desk was too high so I decided to build myself a keyboard tray from scrap wood I had lying around. Pictures: IMG_0498 (small).JPG IMG_0502 (small).JPG IMG_0501 (small).JPG IMG_0504 (small).jpg IMG_0507 (small).JPG IMG_0512 (small).JPG I am very pleased with the result. With alu plates, you can drill/tap some holes in the bottom plate and get any slope by fitting different screws in those holes.
I tried a lot of different configurations and the best for me is a slope from the inner top to the outer bottom.

One of the 3 feet (upper left) from the KMAC need to be taller then the other 2 to have the slope that you want. This is the slope I'm using at work with my 2nd shapeways case (I need to post pics of that) and it's very comfortable.

Great!
For the feet, it depends on how you want to have it sloped or flat. To get a slope, I would place the 3 corners first and try to mark the position of the thumb foot before sticking it. Or with the dimensions of the feet I could determine the exact position from my 3D model.

You can use it with only the controller hand connected but you absolutly need the resistors on the controller side.

I also thing that you need the additional usb connector installed for it to work.

I had the same problem at first. you need to put the two 2.2k resistor and everything should work fine.

Just loading the hex file should work fine.

The PCBs will probably be under 50$ for the pair. The case situation is still pending. I'm currently using a shapeways case that cost ~275$ (because it's angled) and a flat shapeways case cost ~200$. dorkvader is working on a aluminium plate laminate case.
