Re: Possible Unicomp SSK

When dealing with a keyboard, the part that requires the biggest investment is the mould. It probably cost at least 5000 dollars. PCBs and controllers are cheap and require no investment, they barely scale in term of price. Do you agree with that? If that's true, they overcame the biggest difficulty...

Re: Possible Unicomp SSK

Eclipse has built by himself a model f in a shorter time than it took a whole bunch of professionals to build a model m, having all the tools ready (while Eclipse and his fellows had to build everything from scratch). We should suggest to unicop to ask for feedback from the community, before they ma...

Re: [GB] T1 Tactile Switches

How does the T1 compare to cherry mx clear (which I'm using with some misterious springs that have a bottom out value of about 60gr)? Cherry mx clears aren't fantastic, they're quite scratchy and they feel unrefined. I like the fact that there's a little bit of pretravel before the bump. Thanks for ...

Re: Are there any benefits to having a mechanical keyboard if you're not a heavy gamer or aren't a power user

I'm not a gamer but I can't live without a mechanical keyboards. They're just too good. If you use it in an office, I firmly suggest you to buy a keyboard with silent switches (cherry mx silent reds, or some silent variants form zeal). You can't use standard switches in an office, unless you're in a...

I hate my silenced novatouch so much that I'm probably going to throw it away.

I'm really shower typing with that keyboard. My cheap gmmk keyboard with cherry silent switches and sprit 50 grams springs lubed with krytox 105 oil is infinitely better.

Make it silent too.
I’d like a unicorn with my dragon.

A good part of Beamspring’s appeal is that musical thonk of a click. Intrigued to know how that translates here!

I like reds with orings, but not without orings, if that can be considered a reference. I like silent reds too

Topre novatouch is the worst keyboard that I've ever used. Heavy and sluggish and I spent two hours silencing it. What a waste of time.

Can't see anything. What video?
Btw silents are very good with a lighter spring. 50 grams sprit is perfect.

This would be very interesting, I can't find a source for small quantities in EU (sometimes you just want to try some switches).

og cherry dyesub vs others

I'm trying to understand what are the differences between og cherry dyesub sets, and the modern replica, like the ones from enjoypbt, imsto, bsp and similar. Is there any comparison? https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=74405.0;all https://brianleereviews.wordpress.com/2018/07/26/review-enjoypbt-9009/

3d printed? That other guy needed 2 years just to understand what plastic is needed. And now 4 years have passed and yet he doesn't know how to insert the springs.

Well. I'm not sure that guy is ahem, good at planning. Planning.

Re: BOX switches STILL cracking keycaps!

On geekhack there is ample consensus that retooled box switches still crack gmk or OG keycaps.

"all keycaps right away audibly crack on first insertion.
I notified KBDfans about the problem, they said they will take it to Kailh.. (again..)."

Hello, are there any projects for a working model f xt pcb? I'm going to use it on xt and bigfoot keyboards. I think that a new pcb plus an xwhatsit controller would be a nice combo.

Thanks for any suggestions.
