I am too! The seller had a number of people who were trying to poach this keyboard from the rest of the system
That would most definitely be a shame for something a special as this. :o

The beautiful simplicity of the menus is something that's hard to beat. Super cool find! I'm glad the SSK still lives with it's parent system.

Is there any progress? Something based on vBulletin I suppose? https://nexthority.net Feel free to take a look, I've been on a hard grind making the wiki and forum as easy to use and powerful(in terms of features) as possible. I'd love any feedback you or anyone else has to share. Discord server is...

Re: [WTB] [WTTF] IBM 3279 or rare beamer variant

Actually, as the filename shows, this isn't a regular 3279, but a 3278 model 2A. And yes, it's probably rarer. The regular 3279 used a 3278 keyboard (possibly with a couple of different key legends). The 3278-2A was the system console for the 4331 and 4341 mainframes. The buttons and lights at the ...

Re: IBM 4704 Model F 77-key reproduction keyboard review

QMK is the de facto standard for new production, enthusiast-made keyboards - full stop. Joe seems worried that folks will be scared off now, but I think most enthusiasts will either eye-roll about QMK is incomprehensible or will look back with nostalgia about the first time they tried to use it and...

Re: Dear Model F owners, can we talk? (Long rant)

What I will agree with, very very cautiously, is that I had the opposite response with beam spring. Now bear in mind here that my entire experience typing on a beam spring keyboard is probably mere seconds, less than a minute, pushing keys on one that somebody else owned and had sitting in the boot...

Re: Dear Model F owners, can we talk? (Long rant)

Nice rant, but I think the F keyswitch is way smoother, crisper, and just overall better than the model M in every way. It's also at the perfect weighting whereas the M is too heavy for my tastes and tires out my fingers. Also the sound from an F is also 10x better in my opinion. The only M I use is...
