I've used a G81 for a couple months (before I got stupid about keyboards) and as others say, I hate it. It feels like it ought to be OK to type on, but it's really not, it's very fatiguing. Even though I'd never bottom out on it, pushing the keys far enough down to ensure that i'd registered seemed ...

I'm pretty much a Scrooge, I think Christmas has become totally commercialized and there's too much pressure on people to buy crap and outdo each other with giving gifts etc. so I just pretty much hide during the holiday season. I'm not particularly religious either, although if I were, I'd probably...

How common are ANSI 1800 Black winkeyless? It appears Cherry makes more winkeyless in beige, but more winkeyfull keyboards in black. Hopefully not super-rare; I was given a NIB one and actually used it for a while, then realized that it felt like arse (and not in a good way) and stripped the caps o...

Do want do want do want!

Finally, a fantastic use for a set of shiny doubleshots! (not that yours are, I can't really tell, I just mean that I think that shiny ones would look even better than new ones on that board.)

I honestly can't say; the only thing that I've ever used mine for is shortening up some solid brass 6-32s that I used with some salvaged vintage .030" pressed brass receptacle and toggle switch cover plates so they would work with the devices I used (I couldn't find solid brass screws anywhere local...

Damn, now I want one of those cases too. I should pay more attention but I only have so much time to surf the interwebs. As for cutting screws, here's how I would do it. Get a matching nut, thread on to screw. If you are using SAE (inch-sized) screws, a typical crimp tool for electrical connectors w...

I don't think that the switches will care, your fingers might though. But even then it's no worse than typing on a rubber dome keyboard.

Wasn't there some German keyboard made w/ Cherry switches that was O=ring damped out of the box?

I'll be damned if I can remember who it was now, but I do remember seeing a pic of it. I think it used some unique looking switch too (transparent top housings maybe?)

It does appear that at least R1 Wyse caps are very close if not identical to SP profile. A moogle kit Rshift appears identical in profile to my Wyse keys, and the moogle kit bottom row lines up very well with the arrows. So now I don't feel quite so wasteful for jumping into two different RGB GBs be...

I'd nominate either the WASD V1 (because I bought one and love it, it's a real Filco killer, and is or will soon be available with every flavor of Cherry MX switch save for clear) or else the Leopold tenkeyless w/ clear switches (the only "real" keyboard besides Deck available in the US with clear s...

No love for WASD? The caps themselves are OK, just typical ABS caps, but the customization options are great... I have one of their keyboards and think that it's a great product, also I have ordered Costar stabilizer parts from them and probably will be ordering some single keycaps as well to try to...

Tons more to look at... Filco and WASD come to mind, those would be my first two choices, both plate mount w/ Costar stabilizers. Also DAS uses cherry blues, Rosewill RK-9000, Noppoo Choc Pro or Choc Mini... I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.

I guess that's a question for everyone that's interested... me personally as long as the colors are close I'm reasonably fine. Anyone ever make one? Or is that possibly one of the many options that's hidden in the arcane depths of GB4? Doesn't matter - if you already have a Filco with browns or blues, as long as you get some flavor of clear switch you will have what you need. AFAIK the only difference between "plate mount" and "PCB mount" switches is the presence of the pins on the bottom of the PCB mount switches. So if you have ...

I can almost taste the old school goodness. I think this might result in me spray painting a Filco case.

Of all the keyboards that I use regularly, I just realized that the only one that is wearing the keycaps that it came with is the WASD. I just can't resist tweaking on stuff.

I need a new mouse... mine is dead and I'm using a crappy OEM Dell thing in its place. It's pissing me off.
