Re: 40 % Buckling springs keyboard

I haven't been here in ages but had to log in to say this is amazing, one of the greatest thing I've seen in custom keyboards in a long time. Did you just model the case yourself? Did you powdercoat it afterwards? It doesn't really look 3d printed in the photo on github, you can barely see the seam....

Re: good mouse for CAD work?

Would a drawing tablet like a Wacom be suitable for CAD work? I've seen designers use them exclusively over a mouse, and it seems like it'd be a very natural way of creating a CAD file. One of the buttons on the stylus set to middle click, that's gotta be pretty comfortable right?

Re: 16" MacBook Pro Keyboard

I tried it in a store too. In terms of just feel, not as good as the butterfly. And the keys wobble again, which is something the butterfly totally eliminated. It's not as big a wobble as the pre-2015 keyboards, but then you'd expect that as they're lower keys. Still, that's definitely a regression ...

I tried one of these at an Apple store and like Muirium came away impressed. Wrote a little write-up at GH, repeated here: --- I tried it today as well, and it isn't bad. They keys feel really weird at first because the travel is so, so low. And because the keys are almost at a level with the plate/...

The descriptions are so Japanese! "I made this keycap set in praise of the invincible dreamers. We are such stuff as dreams are made on."

Do these come with the stems or is it just the top layer of a two-part cap?

Interesting. hjkl is what has prevented me from trying other layouts. Funny thing is that I've for a long time had arrow keys on a layer under hjkl, but I just never tried using them for navigation much in vim because, well, we already have hjkl. Okay! I'm going to train myself to use the layer exc...

I'm also a Vim user, which means switching layouts will do "interesting" things to the hjkl navigation keys I'm used to, but I'm prepared to give it a shot nonetheless. I solved the problem by adding the arrow keys on second layer in the hjkl qwerty position : https://www.massdrop.com/ext/ergodox/?...

I do like the big escape key. Too important a key for it to be relegated to it's usual (for mac) tiny, half-size afterthought. Also eliminates that weird function key spacing on current macs. Are metal dome switches loud? Like the tactile switches you'd shove in to a breadboard? I can't imagine Appl...
