so if im reading that correctly you have a plate for a pcb mount keyboard and want to use plate mount stabs? Not sure how to recommend doing that but you may be able to use the enabler pcbs for using pcb mount stabs but i feel like you would still need to support them but I have not tried them mysel...

Yeah, I had the same thing; the pro-micro was on COM1 or something but the bootloader was on COM7. It's the other reason I would recomend having device manager open when fiddling.
