I actually bought these a few months ago and they are indeed alps branded. However, when I bought them the listing was: "Supply of imported original ALPS WKUES1B010 mechanical keyboard button switch" NOW the listing is: "Supply of imported original similar ALPS WKUES1B010 mechanical keyboard button...

Any info on this? (not my find) The wiki pages for SKCC Cream and Alps integrated dome both mention it with references. The SKCC version was mentioned here in 2014 (per the reference on the SKCC Cream page): https://deskthority.net/keyboards-f2/keyboard-mystery-alps-12kc018a-for-trs-80-model-iii-t9...

Was anyone able to get these? https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=558118276592 Typical China — the moron seller created a listing with a bunch of random photos and sells whatever he feels like from it. Aren't foam and foil? Look at the spring, Also I remember other Amkey boards with weird foam and foil switches If anything, they remind me of [wiki]Stackpole torsion spring[/wiki], but they won't be if they are Amkey branded. They do bear more than a passing resemblance to the switch in one of Amke...

The search box at the top right provides autocomplete on page titles, but it is case-sensitive from the second character onwards (i.e. you can type "chicony KB-5161" or "Chicony KB-5161" but not "chicony kb-5161"). I generally use that box, rather than run full searches. You can use quotes around se...

A terminal keyboard, apparently. I'm pretty sure I've seen that picture in this thread before but can't find it now. Any info? Thanks! Some kind of DEC LK-201 clone. Usually rubber domes or MX Blacks, though I've seen others like green Alps too. I saw a variant on Geekhack recently where that ribbe...

You can't just destroy all the page contents in the hope that one day you might do something with them — you may not ever get around to it, and in which case who else would know where all the material went? However, I will leave you to butcher it however you please. It's not my responsibility.

Oh, of course, this probably uses a PCB inside, so having LEDs within keys isn't difficult. Fujitsu had special LEDs that connected to the matrix for the FKB4700, to allow in-key LEDs to operate from a membrane.

Latching keys are the ones that stay down when pressed. Since they were probably never used on any PC keyboard, I have no idea why the manufacturer would bother to state that. I realise that the presentation is not serious, but if those are not your actual worst top ten, then that was a pretty worthless video. My first encounter with Alps integrated dome (the small blue ones) led me to believe they were mechanical, as they were sharply tactile and had a metallic ping. I was quite surprised when I opened a switch. With any rubber-based keyboard (including MEI T-15) you have to consider the state of the rub...

You are going to "buy new springs" … for what, exactly? Blue Alps's feel comes from not one but three springs: a helical return spring, a leaf spring for the click and tactile feel, and a leaf spring that works the contacts. The contacts are also springy: you have a flat plastic prong that applies p...

It depends what you mean by "those clones", since there are a variety of clone types that look similar or identical. Focus is known for using OA2 and T1, yes — I just wasn't sure if these were T1 or not. They do seem to be.
