Bass, Saw this post. Have you gotten any further? A few months ago a dug in deep and was able to fix two of mine. Perhaps I can help? Let me know what error you are seeing, if it's different than what you posted. Voidtstar, Nice demo. Next time I get mine out i will try it. I have a 5100 BASIC/APL a...

AND $643 ALREADY, GOD.
I know it doesn't interest anyone here but those tapes and manuals are actually worth a lot of money. Hopefully the potential buyer doesn't think the 5100 is in the auction (it is clearly stated) but they could fetch that money and then some.

@josh68 http://vintagecomputer.ca/morrow-md-3p-portable-computer. Still looking for switch type. I like the dials. Nope. Nothing easily findable. A couple examples here had tall cream Alps. Here's the switch on my keyboard linked above. I don't know what these switches are. Morrow_keyboard.jpg

Impressive! I didn't expected such a fast work, also it came out very clean. Thanks for the side picture, that curve is unique. Thanks. There were quite a few steps but I wanted to get this out of the way as I have a few other projects to get to. Thankfully I have a Hakko desoldering gun to remove ...

Re: Resto: Symbolics 364000 "dug up from ground"

Done. Looks and feels great considering what it looked like when I got it. I just wish I had the missing "ESCAPE" key but otherwise, I will try to convert it at some point but make sure it is reversible in case I find a Symbolics 3600 series computer to go with this. If anyone has the original keybo...

All things considered, it looks better than I expected.
Yes. While the switch plate looked rusty, it was actually red dirt/dust. The key switch mounting plate actually came out almost like new. The switches themselves will be a whole other matter.

Re: Resto: Symbolics 364000 "dug up from ground"

The restoration continues. The switch plate: Symbolics3600After-switch plate.jpg First round of switches washed that are drying. They are a hell of a lot smoother as the odd one didn't even return when depressed before. I'll have to do this a couple more times. First round was water in an ultrasonic...

Resto: Symbolics 364000 "dug up from ground"

Well, I was the one who acquired the Symbolics 364000 (3600) from eBay recently. I thought it would make a good restoration project but let's see where I can get to this. To say these key switches are "scratchy" is an understatement as they are covered in sand. I am not even sure if these switches c...

I recently acquired a prototype Commodore C900 that is a Unix workstation. IBM Model M Rescue II

Some time back, I rescued a few IBM Model Ms from impending destruction at an industrial plant. Univac 4118511-01 keyboard from 1968

The earliest keyboard I have now. This is a Univac keyboard with Micro Switch switches from 1968. Alright, note taken. :) The seller is asking roughly $130 for the monitor and machine, and isn't sure if it's working or not. While I'd really love to own the machine, I'm not sure if now is the time..
